Oooh, how exciting! My tips are- forget everything you have learnt about riding, you are there to play the game, not ride the horse. If you concentrate on the stick and ball the horse will sort you out. Also and most importantly- WEAR JEANS.

Have fun

wear jeans? why may i ask :)

... because everybody does!!

Second the tip about forgetting everything you know about "normal" riding (unless you ride Western) - it's all totally different and rather counter-intuitive if you're riding a polo pony. You'll love it - have lots of fun!

Exactly. If you wear jods you will look like a beginner! I will also not mention hats.

Think of the horse as being part of you- you turn your body and it turns too, don't worry about your leg position or steering, it will all come right! You must of course post pics and a report!

I had a couple of lessons this winter, can't really advise as I was terrible!
I wore jodhs, and a hat, but as has been mentioned no one else will be. If you're comfortable like that though, do it.

Yes- DO wear a hat, you might look like a beginner but at least you won't be paralysed when you fall off as you didn't expect the brakes to be so good!!

Don't try & 'hit' the ball - ie don't try & wallop it, you'l end up missing/going over the top & tensing you arm. Just relax, & keep you swing straight & follow through & you'll be fine!! Keep you eye on the ball, but don't ball watch if you get into a chukka, you'll end up not marking & probably riding over the line & causing a foul.

Its amazing & you're going to love it!!!

haha thanks :) i might wear my jods anyway as my jeans are all a bit tight when i ride in them! I will def post pictures and maybe some videos :)

Just showed mum there website :) My dad used to keep a pony with them and they let me play around on their pony Cowboy? :) I actually got my horse off of them aswell as they were selling him for someone!
