Just about, I usually just remember where I go, rather than at what letter [easier to visualise riding the test than say at A track left B 20 M circle....] Then you have the letters in the middle...I know G & D....and the test has something at I? think it may be the halt....*screams* D'you reckon the judge will notice if I tape a map on my arm?
as in VSPR= vesper,,,but its actually VSRP-- vesrup.
dunno,,my mind works in odd ways,,but when i think what are the letters, i say VeSRuP in my head---VSRP.
I would draw a dressage arena on a piece of paper and then draw through your test as many times as you can befor going mad to help you remeber where the movements happen. I do the same as you on small arenas by doing movements at places not letters.

Do you know what, Henmeister, we've never met but I'm coming to the conclusion you are COMPLETELY mad
Only our shared admiration for Arthur (mine is recently acquired) suggests you have a slim grasp on sanity - or maybe it suggests that I'm losing mine?!
You can buy wipe-clean plastic boards with the short dressage arena marked out on one side and the long arena on the other, you can draw out your test with a pen or just with your finger. We find them invaluable in our house!

Having seen your over-active imagination in your Shelford report I'm afraid you may be losing yours TD.
Don't worry though, there'll be plenty of others joining you "there" (wherever that is

See, now I think that's fab!
I'm old so got away with only memorising the small arena in my youth (the large arena is now standard in Canada - no idea here - even for Training level tests) so just did the All King Edward's Horses Can Make Brown Fudge (Yes, I know it's "wrong" but it's funny
). Then RSVP starting with the R between B and M to make "BRooM" and "dlig" up the centre line. I usually manage to remember where X is.
The problem is I never actually do it by the letters, I just visualise the patterns. Some times it works better than others.
