any tips on doing well in m+m showing inhand??

Any experienced in hand competitors have any tips on how to do well in the ring? I want to get my 2yr old sec A out alot this summer, he should do well, - chestnut with 4 whites and blaze, very flashy and moves well. Was wondering if anyone had any tips on getting him to extend more on the trot up in front of judge?
