Any tips on how to occupy the next 6 weeks until puppy arrives?

I'm going quietly insane with anticipation.

Last night I had a dream about puppy selection this coming Saturday. I was surrounded by puppies...hundreds of them....and I couldn't make my decision. In my dream I was upset as I was quite literally spoilt for choice.

I'm really looking forward to meeting them, and their mummy, for the first time but am also really anxious too. I have my eye on one boy but we don't have first choice. We have second choice. I am endeavouring to maintain a "what will be, will be" attitude to whether this pup will already be selected. However, inside I know I'll be disappointed slightly if he is already chosen. Of course, when in the flesh I might prefer another but I just know I'll be going hoping he's available for my decision making.

He's a very dark blue roan, like his mummy, and I love that look.

If I can't sleep now...how will I survive until the middle of next month? I haven't been this excited since I had my new kitchen installed!

I know, you can orchestrate my house move, that should fill at least 4 weeks

Oh heck....that might be too stressful. I don't want to have committed harry carry before Harvey arrives.

Managed to secure a kitten yet?

I was wondering....would it be totally wrong of me to request to visit one more time (at least) between Saturday and collection five weeks later? I'd like to cure my withdrawal symptoms in that time, but would also like Harvey to be a bit more familiar with us.....in the hope it will help him to settle better.

Oh dear. I had forgotten about the digging

What type of pup do you have? I hope the vet bills are for nothing serious.

when we sold our pups we were happy for any number of visits, it made us feel much happier about the homes they were going to (well, those people we didn't actually know). Im sure the breeder wont mind at all!

My pup is ready 16 Nov, which is a Monday. Ideally I would want to get him at the weekend but I don't think the breeder wants us to take him till dead on 8 weeks (so don't want to ask if we can have him on the Sunday before!) but I also don't want to wait an extra 6days!!!

I was thinking if I pick him up on the monday about 5 or 6pm it might be better anyway as the evenings are quieter and the kids will be at school for the week so his first few days will be quiet before a manic weekend!!

Still I'm so excited and hoping this week and the next 6 weeks for you, goes really really fast!!

LOL Patches.....I suggest test driving as many mop and bucket sets as you can and laying in supplies of kitchen roll and Dettol now before I cause a national shortage! You could research puppy food....that kept me occupied for a few days while I was waiting to pick up Ruby.

I have no doubt the breeder would be more than happy for you to do an interim visit, they will understand how excited you are.

Id post Rubes up to you for a few weeks but I reckon she would eat a jiffy bag fairly quickly!

Toy shopping for the pup! When we were getting ours by the time she arrived she had every toy you could think off in her toy box! Then she arrived, didnt play with any of hers only the big toys and my other dog destroyed all the puppy toys! lol
But i shall do it all again when we get our next one lol!
