I have a Wessex clubman trailer and the wooden floor needs replacing. I'm sure I read somewhere that these trailers are built on an ifor 505 chassis, does that mean that one of the aluminium kits from ifor would fit straight in? Otherwise, does anyone know where you go about buying aluminium planks or whatever from? My friends husband will do the work (he does it professionally) but I'm hoping to source the floor myself to keep costs down!

yup, muggins here is on trailer refurb number 2! Mine have been a Rice and a Bahill though so no idea about Wessex. I've done both of mine in wood. You can buy aluminum planking from a few places. The easiest is probably Aalco, they much cheaper than the packs. I sent them an email and they were really helpful. I will probably upgrade the current one to aluminum at some point. I think the materials work out about £300

Thanks very much - so on the aalco site I just looked, I can't see 'plank' listed - I actually have no idea but thought planks were used for trailer floors? I'm also more than happy to go down the wood route, what would you recommend?

I sent my local branch an email and they couldnt have been more helpful, so I'd do that. Wood wise I used buffalo board also known as phenolic ply. It works out cheaper at about £200 and its quicker and easier to work with, or at least it is for me doing it on my own at home
