Any way of mounting a hat cam to your shoulder or similar?

Hi all,

I have the chilli tec bullet hat cam, that’s been recommended on here.

With my old skull cap I stuck the Velcro attachment to the hat, and when not in use (eg at dressage comp or similar), I could just cover the Velcro section with my hat silk. (The attachment is one piece of Velcro with a sticky/glue side that you stick on your hat semi/permanently, then a corresponding piece of Velcro which has two elastic loops which the camera slides into. I think the idea being that if you fall and land on it, it should pop off).

However, I’ve recently got a new hat, an UVEX, so obviously my previous method won’t work. I’m a bit hesitant to stick the Velcro strip on my new hat as either it will have to be on all the time, even when not using the camera or keep peeling off the attachment which I think will make it loose it’s stickability when I do actually want to use it.

Our roads are pretty horrific and I’ve sent several clips to the police’s online reporting system, all of which have resulted in action taken (the last one being just last week!) so I don’t really like riding on the roads without it.

I was wondering if anyone had come up with a solution to mount the bullet style cameras on their shoulder or similar?

Thanks!

I don’t have that particular camera, there are shoulder holsters available for some makes of cameras, possibly you could adapt one.
I attached my camera to a number bib though it tended to point down too much. I used it for unaff xc and the video is a bit nausea inducing 😂

Just bringing this older post up as I got a hatcam for Xmas and just wondered who has it on their helmet or on their chest?

It's an Insta 360, I've just tried it on with the hatstrap and i imagine it takes a bit of getting used to
I wanted a Techologic but OH chose this one
