Hey,

I am getting married next August and I am pretty sure I am getting there with all the things I have to organised, order and book.

Any other 2017 weddings? How are you getting on with your plans?

Jx

September 2017! Struggling between thinking I have ages and getting on a roll! Got the big things done I think (or most of them anyway), so I suppose we're nearly there really...

Yes - I get days like this where im thinking its ages away but then people remind me that once christmas is out of the way, it will fly in. I didn't realise how soon you had to book alot of things though. Think I just need to sort out rings, kilts and cake................then its all the little bits. :D

I started planning about a year ago (actually typing that makes me feel weird... has it really been a year since we got engaged?!?!?!) so I'm still under the impression that I have 2 years left! Haha!

June 2017... have done venue, registrar, food, dress, cake, flowers, and table decorations. Honeymoon is booked and contributions towards is our gift list.

We were going to use horse shoes as favours but my other half is useless so we're having seeds in nice envelopes so people can "plant a memory" and the envelopes will be used as place markers.

Cake topper is having the dog and horse on it with us :) and I'm going to the venue pulled by ponies :) my pony is staying at home though!

October 2017!! Venue/catering, dress, band/DJ/ceremony/drinks reception music, cake, flowers, room decor, make up/hair sorted!! Need to make a start on getting bridesmaids/groom etc kitted out, invites, registrar, favours, rings and all the other million bits I've forgotten!! Needless to say it's gona cost a small fortune, and for the next 12 months it's beans on toast!!

Well I feel better that I havent got it all sorted and organised yet. I am waiting for a sample day and night invite to come back with a quote for that, memory box, guest book (designed like my invites) and name tags for the bottles for favours.

I have sorted:

Venue
Band
Flowers
photographer
I have my dress (safe in mums cupboard)
My shoes
Ordered the bridesmaids dresses
Hair and make up booked.

good thing about the venue we have picked we picked the gold package and it includes the likes of the chair covers and sashes and centre piece for the tables. So slightly less to think about.

Congrats to you all though :D

September 2017! Date, Venue and registrar sorted. We are planning a weekend with close family and friends with a wedding in the middle and are really laid back about the whole thing as long as everyone enjoys themself and we have the important people there that's the main thing.
That's it so far as we have a mini on the way so waiting until she arrives in December before launching into wedding planning. We're getting married over in Northern Ireland (my original home) and luckily my parents are going to take on a lot of the organising/coordinating (they're retired and seem to be really keen to help plus we live in England so it makes sense) and my OH's mum is going to sort the invitations and other 'crafty bits' as she is really talented. Dress wise I'll start looking in Feb when we're over with the mini and try and coordinate the 2 bridesmaids (one here, one there) for a get together then as well for their dress shopping. The key is to go with it and don't let everyone else stress you out or try to take over it's you and your OH's day.. Unfortunately I was married before to a complete A-Hole so have had a practice run lol.

Haha - I like that "practice run"!

Our day is looking to be a really busy day as OH has a big family and my family is small but have alot of "close friends of family". Think for during the day we are sitting at 45 plus partners at the moment but the list changes all the time. Will have to try and set it in stone as the person that is doing my invites will print the names instead of having to write them all out. :D

HaHa I think that's the only way I can look back on it all now. I get the odd badgering message from his or my family 'you need to book xyz as it's less than a year away' but TBH we just moved into our house so been sorting that as well as growing a mini and the wedding is on the back burner! I'm sure once mini pops out the excitement will set in! We're looking at 40/50 guests in total I think :)

October 2017 - A Year today! =/
Sorted - Venue, Registrar, Reception, DJ, Hair, Make-up.

So still loads to do and I keep going its fine I have a year! And then get distracted playing ponies!

i keep getting distracted with pony things to as in organising shows, lessons etc first! lol. Our local EGS show next year was going to be on my wedding day but shes made it for the week after so I can take my pony and also the adult games champion from this year is my bridesmaid lol. Priorities in all that.

My only problem is I have booked my wedding on HOYS day... Thankfully none of my friends tend to go on the Sat night. But yes - Mine was planned for the end of showing season.

O god I am so bad may 6th 2017, I have booked the church! We haven't even done a guest list, though I have told people
