Hi, please if anybody has any information on meadow stud dealers in Essex I would be grateful to hear about any horses you have bought or experiences there.
Thinking about going to look at a couple of horses ive seen on there but a bit worried at the cheap prices and all adverts saying suitable for novice and no vices?
I know not all horses have vices and there are a lot of good horses out there but out of a large bunch you usually get at least 1 quirky one or more suited to advanced riders.
Thanks for any help.

My friend bought a cob from them and he was absolutely beautiful. He was only young though so needed educating but he has turned into the most fabulous chap that her daughter rides and shows very successfully. I've also been informed that they supply ponies to another dealer/producer who just specialises in children's ponies and I know of a few ponies that have come from them which are also very nice ponies. I haven't heard any negatives about them but like you say, they do seem rather cheap?! Just go with a very open mind and if in doubt, have it vetted too. I was looking on their Facebook pages a couple of days ago and there is the most beautiful mare on there - almost tempted but my stables are full at the mo :(

Not in the last year but 3 years ago. Bought a mare that he'd only had in a week or so. He truthfully told me that she hadn't been tested yet so I bought her for a minimal price. Turns out she was broken and out competing only months before. She was a bloody diamond and now is ridden by people of all ages in a lovely new home.

Before I bought her I went to see another gelding, he was lovely but far far too much for me, Jay said he wasn't right for me and showed me a few other nice horses including the mare above. I'd go there again and again.

I've known a couple of horses that came from them, and considering the fact they didn't cost much, they were actually quite nice. They seem to pick up a few from riding school closures and the like, and I suspect the low prices are due to fairly low overheads and a quick turnaround.
If you know what you're looking at, and don't mind something that will probably need a bit of schooling, I'd consider them worth a try.

I was there yesterday so probably saw the horses you are interested in PM me if you want :)

I will say that it was crazy busy and they expect to sell most of the horses over the weekend. They buy them cheap and sell them cheap with low overheads and a really quick turnover.
