Yep given up even trying this week and the weekend isnt looking good either, Saddle fitter took my saddle yesterday to move stuff around so I didn’t argue as thought I wouldn’t be riding anyway, will leave it till Saturday to collect now.

I rode yesterday and that'll have to do for the next week or so. For the last 3 weeks I think I've managed one or two rides a week, so really not much. He's turned out so is fine without being ridden, but it is frustrating.

I rode both on Monday, one hack and one school and the same yesterday. The wind is too strong today so they have just been turned out. The young one is competing tomorrow. Looks like there will be a lull in the weather so transporting should be ok and the classes are indoors. Friday looks a right off! Should also be competing on Sunday but that doesn't look too promising.
Soon be spring!!!

I'm SE so not as bad as the north, blustery here today. Rode Monday, this morning and will do tomorrow instead of Friday (gusts up to 69mph in BBC app). Saturday not looking too bad compared to Friday so will go out as planned.

Definitely staying in field this week, I don’t like riding in strong winds as have to ride along busy roads so to dangerous, weekend looks a bit better. Luckily horse not bothered when he has time off and it makes no different to his demeanour so I’m lucky in that respect. Running around the paddock with his friend so getting some exercise ??

Managed OK so far. Hacked Monday, last night was a dressage lesson, which went well. This lunchtime it brightened up so we managed a quick hack in the wind.

Tomorrow is supposed to be a jumping lesson, outdoors. We will assess just beforehand to see if it is do-able.

I'm supposed to be leading in hand from the stable. Last time the pony did box rest she really wasn't feeling well and was incredibly well behaved. This time she feels absolutely fine and can't understand why she isn't enjoying zoomies with her friends in the field (zoomies got her into this mess). Leading in hand this morning was not fun so she can be led around the yard tonight, I'll hopefully get her out tomorrow and then I'm declaring Friday a day off.

There were bits of tree throwing themselves at us this morning and I suspect whole trees might be a bit wobbly on Friday we've had so much rain. At least they aren't in leaf

I managed to get both out on Saturday and companion pony had a good canter on Monday before every thing changed. Since then it has been really miserable and just not worth making the effort. I am hoping Friday will not mean cancelled trains as making my first visit to my son and family since the first lock down.

Rode Monday and lunged yesterday, nothing today - might try tomorrow if not to bad! Friday definitely a write off. Supposed to be at a clinic early Sunday but keeping an eye on the wind forecast, it keeps changing between ok and too windy!

I rode out on Sunday, they had yesterday in but had a really nice long ride this morning. Now gale force winds so I will be fetching them in soon.

Rode and got drenched on Sunday but both ponies are in need of the Farrier, one for a trim and the other for shoes so I don’t feel at all guilty they have just had turnout. I do feel sorry for the Farrier though as he is booked for Friday afternoon when the wind is due to be around 65mph.

I normally wimp out riding in strong winds, but I had a pre paid riding lesson booked today on a school horse.

Arrived to find that the adjacent hotel was also having a clay pigeon shoot .

Was assured that none of the horses would be bothered, and they weren't. I had a fabulous 45 mins lesson in an outdoor school, mostly with the reins in one hand leg yielding in and out on a circle in trot, and canter also with the reins in one hand.

Ruddy brilliant, even though I has to ask the instructor to repeat what she'd said a few times as her voice got carried off in the wind :).

Must admit i haven't ridden much at all recently during dec and jan, the last time was in the wind and not an enjoyable experience!! Decided i'm a fair weather, happy hacker and probably have winter off except for the occasional sunny day to do groundwork. Not pressuring myself because i feel i 'ought' to go for i ride i think i enjoy it more.

Collected new horse on Friday and have managed to ride once since (and did an in-hand walk down the village when it was tipping down). Was keeping my fingers crossed for this weekend but it's not looking likely now.

Didn’t ride Sunday as I’d ridden 8 days in a row but the weather was ok in the morning. I had a lesson 8am on Monday and hacked with one of my sharers Tuesday. Didn’t ride today as had training at work but again fine first thing. Tomorrow morning I hope to hack but not sure at moment. Friday I had the saddler coming but we both agree it’s not the weather for it so postponed until next week. Saturday again will wait and see. Sunday morning I’m writing at dressage but may ride pm.

I rode last night, knowing it would be my last chance for a while. I'm not a fair-weather rider, but even I have limits. It was OK this morning, but the winds picked up as the afternoon went on, and now the house is shaking, so no riding for me this evening. Thankfully our clinic is the weekend after this, and it looks like things should have calmed down by then. It won't hurt her to have a few days off, although we have just upped her feed, so I might lunge her before getting back on next week :D

I lunged then got on Faran last night had a walk about then walked back down to the yard. Wind was going for it but he was a star. Didn’t bother with anything. Probably won’t be near the school or his back until next week at this rate. Weathers being pants

I managed to dodge the rain on Monday and today I schooled in a short sleeved polo shirt as it was so warm, although it was very windy. However, I'll duck out of riding on Friday as we are due to have gale force winds. We've had loads of rain though, everywhere is sopping wet.
