or just me? 🙈

Had a bit of a rodeo when cantering in a field on my mare yesterday when she was racing the dog and then today my boy nearly decked me spooking and doing two handstands which made me shriek 😂😂 he’s 25 and so am glad he is feeling well but flipping heck I’d forgotten how sharp he can be!

Anybody else?

The mare is wild! She goes from 0 to 100mph with no feet on the floor for no apparent reason. Whilst I'm so happy to see she feels so comfortable in herself to do those movements, I'm also glad she's non ridden when she suddenly explodes! The boy meanwhile, is as chill as ever and is more concerned with the amount he can put in his stomach

Just moved 3 of mine to a location with an arena, because 10 days of not cantering properly due to muddy tracks had sent them almost mad. Day 1 we warmed up then cantered until they were done, took a break, cantered again…and again…until there were signs of sanity reappearing. Day 2 they had actually found their brains - mostly. I have high hopes for day 3!

Meanwhile, the sensible crew back home are happy to mosey around calmly, adjusting to the demands of the weather and not getting excited about anything.

(None of this has anything to do with age - my 3yo is in the sensible crew!)

Arabi has been jogging and flinging himself about when hacking in the past week, I'm away now until Tuesday so he will probably be worse having almost a week off🙈

Yes oddly enough mine are. They live out and nothing has changed really. I've put it down to darker nights, slightly colder weather and more wind. Can't be grass as they are on a grass free track.

It was the first properly cold morning of the year on Thursday. Full clip a month ago. Went in the school...zero brakes, even in the double bridle I'd popped on expecting things to be a little lively.
