Anybody else had a 'Ride with your mind' Lesson?

I have just started having these lessons and have found them extremely helpful but it's quite hard to adjust to but I have found such a difference in my mares way of going because of the little changes I have made when I ride. Looking forward to my next lesson :)

I have been having them for the last 3 years (one a month), I LOVE my lessons and although I rode for 36 years before having them I found them totally mind blowing, things just fell into place and I realised so many things (like doors flying open in my head). I do think that my RI is particularly talented though and I' m less impressed with the Wanless herself.

I have one on Saturday on my recently backed Haffy (well, ealier this year) and I can't wait, I usully have them on my TB.

Gosh, I've been having RWYM lessons for the past two years- charges me £20 on my own horse. But then, I have no idea whether we get a discount as my instructor's a close family friend.
Will agree that it's incredibly difficult to adjust to at the beginning - hard work with a certain degree of aches and pains included. But for me it's certainly paid off both with my own riding and with helping to improve the way that horses go. For this reason, I'd recommend it to anyone- and perseverance with it.
However, as with anything, I imagine it's not for everyone, and each individual will have their own experience of it.

Lucky you! but even at £30 an hour I feel it is worth every penny and has helped my twisty TB and me no end. After my first lesson I got off and my legs were total jelly (and these were hardened hacking legs or so I thought!)

I had my first ride with your mind lesson about 5 years ago and i've never looked back and my understanding of rider/horse interaction continues to grow. I was in such an awful place with my riding, so despondent and my body wouldn't do what i wanted it to. Now I have much better awareness of where my body is, what the horse is trying to make my body do and also have developed 'tools' that i can counteract the horses evasions. I have a long, long way to go (had 2 children in the last 3 years so haven't done much recently) but i am off to Ashen Equestrian Centre tonight for a simulator session. Becky Chapman is my instructer and I think she is fab.

If anyone in East Anglia is interested, Becky is holding a 'horsey' weekend that has various clinics, demonstrations and discussions on many different subjects like RWYM, biomechanics, stride analysis, saddlery, nutrition, farriery etc (and tickets are ridiculously cheap in my opinion!). I'm presuming i can't put a link to the website because of advertising but if anyone is interested I can pm you
the details.

Becky is fab, been with her just over year and it's changed my riding completely. I can honestly say I love her to bits. Gone from spurs, tight noseband and flash to a more lightened horse no flash and a very happy horse. Was about to sell my very talented but crazy horse and managed to just find b in time. God send, as a horse that was getting out of control is now turning into my dream horse and hopefully me his dream mummy. Oh I have learnt more in a year then I have in 15 too.
