On a serious note, are you wanting a cow for a specific reason?, to put on horse pasture, have a small holding and would like a variety of animals...2 horses, couple of sheet, a cow and a trio of bantoms kinda thing? or just a wanting to rescue one and have it as a pet, companion for a horse?

I had a pet sheep which we bought as a lamb from a cattle market which we kept with our horses years ago when we had rented grazing, he was lovely, called him Shawn. He used to eat fettle the weeds and eat the long grass that the horses didn't eat. Quite a funny character he was but we had give him away once we moved some of our horses onto livery....I was heart broken!

no, but don't eat much fish hauled out the sea , left to die, no tracability for age, diet etc give me red met any time.

I dont think we would.... Most on here have our eyes wide open & dont have a problem with people eating horse. Its the live transport accross/to Europe I have a problem with

I've rescued some goats before now... well... they never went to a legal operating slaugherhouse, put it that way! *wink wink*

On a serious note, much as I love horses, I also love sheep and I find it infinatly unfair that it's okay to eat my favourite animal, but not to eat yours.
