Know of a fantastic 3 year old mare for sale who is being prepared for the Bundeschamionat 2008 by Gestuet Sprehe. Fixed price of 40,000 euros...........

So has anyone got in the region of £29k to give me as an early Crimbo pressie......

She was the Champion mare in Mecklenberg this year with several 9's out of 10. Is a 1A Premium mare judged by one of the top Hano judges.....Hans-Heinrich Brühning. She is not in foal but because she is by Furst Heinrich (the top class deceased Sprehe Stallion) they are keen for Holga Finken to bring her out into competition in 2008 in the young horse classes. However the owners want her to go into breeding, not as a riding horse.

Sigh........if only..................

Santa if you can hear me........this would be a lovely pressie to wake up to tomorrow morning.......

.......I promise I wont ask for anything else for 2008....

Some people do put together syndicates to buy stallion prospects so not a bad idea. I could imagine a lot of fighting though!!!

She is absolutely gorgeous. I just need to go on a diet, get those highligts done, remove the smelly horsey clothe

, visit the nail salon, find underwear that matches and then hang around the polo club down the road and find a multi millionaire......

She is SO short in her back- would you say this is good? Or good for some things & not others? (genuinely interested, as I've been brought up to like "short" but to me this is too short; I'd be afraid she would overstep herself if she tracked up freely).

LOL Magic..........so does that mean that you will own the left hoof and me the right. Hollycat can have the tail.......that just leaves somebody else for the rest of her......

Alleycat I would not class her as that short, have looked at all the pictures again but I did not think she was particularly short from her withers to her croup.

Did not think the above picture showed her to be very short, but that is just my own take on her. Would not class her as a square type horse, maybe not the longest regtangular model, but would say she is more in the rectangular model than the square.

Perhaps my judgement has been affected by too much of the good old Christmas spirit. That'll be why there's 2 of her in that picture...

Alleycat admit it..........you've been on the Mulled wine.........are you all warm and fuzzy now??..........LOL........ Maybe we could all club together to buy the twin sister then........LOL

Hope you are having a "Merry" Christmas........

Funny you should say that- I've just learnt I've got some mulled wine coming my way; a prezzie; should be interesting as I haven't tasted it in years- not since we tried to mull it ourselves years ago & it tasted of soot.

I'm now sufficiently far gone, I think, to start on the Heather Beer... Another new experience...

Happy Xmas

Heather Beer... YES! I LIKE this!

I could get very warm & fuzzy indeed before the night's out.....

If I wake up tomorrow morning and find myself poor with a stable full of horses I shall blame you, Anastasia...

Was forgetting, I'm ALREADY poor with a stable full of horses..

Cheers!

I am happy with the tail - a very nice tail it is too.

I don't think she is too short in the back. We're often used to expect to see mares a little longer in the back than geldings. There are pros and cons as with everything. A bit shorter perhaps easier to do collected work (think of the typical iberian horse which is square in its shape as opposed to the more rectangular model of the warmblood). A more rectangular horse will generally find the lateral work easier and the extensions. If the movement and engagement is there she will be fine - and it must be for her to be so highly rated. It will be very interesting to see her in a few years as a mature mare.

There must be potential there, especially if she proves herself on a performance level. Why is syndication with sports horses so rare compared to race horses? Is it just to do with the returns? I dont know of any sports horses with more the 3 owners.

Magic I will just expand on what I was saying above......... there are many syndicates for sports horses, but these tend to be on the stallion side. For instance the big priced Holstein Stallion Champion was purchased by three Studfarms. I guess for some people they are worried if there are any fall outs etc as to what then happens to the horse.

I would consider a syndicate if the ongoing costs could be contained. I could afford a good lump sum for the purchase - e.g. 10k, but not if I then had to pay £500 a month for livery, insurance, vets and all those incidental costs.

I think its also very easy to fall out with people if things go wrong so it has to be done on a very professional business basis.

Well take your pick of body parts.............

Yeah I agree that if going into a syndicate it would have to be done in a legal manner......but with a mare how on earth would you decide on which stallion if there was say 4 of you.........

Ahh - but I want the anus - if it goes on strike nothing else will function and soon give in to the will of the anus. And being so close to the tail - I think it is my right!

When the body was first made, all the parts wanted to be Boss.
The brain said, "I should be boss because I control the whole body's responses and functions."

The feet said, "We should be Boss as we carry the brain about and get him to where he wants to go."

The hands said, "We should be the boss because we do all the work and earn all the money."

And so it went on and on with the heart, the lungs, and the eyes until finally the anus spoke up. All the parts laughed at the idea of the anus being the Boss. So the anus went on strike, blocked itself up and refused to work.

Within a short time the eyes became crossed, the hands clenched, the feet twitched, the heart and lungs began to panic and the brain fevered. Eventually they all decided that the anus should be the boss, so the motion was passed. All the other parts did all the work while the boss just sat and passed out the [****]!

Moral of the story: You don't need brains to be a boss - any anus will do.

Its the ongoing costs that will always stop me considering a syndicate, as livery is just so expensive with a top rider. But between 4 or 5 of you if everyone contributed £500 a month you would have a pot of £2000 + a month so almost do-able perhaps. Particularly if each had a special skill - one had the yard, one was a top rider, one was a vet and the other a lawyer to do the paperwork
wink.gif
Ok - back to reality. A good friend of mine has a livery yard and is a very advanced rider. I would love to share a horse with her. I have the capital, she can provide the care and the everyday schooling. She is approaching 60 so does not want to do the initial backing, hacking out silly youngster or take young, v excited horse out to comps - but I can do that. Its not worth it with a friend though - too much risk of falling out and I value her friendship too much to take the risk.

(The anus bit was a jab at Anastasia's xmas nickname AnusTinsel.......I will be less subtle next time............ha ha ha!
grin.gif
)

But you are correct without the anus we would not have the horse, but along with the anus comes the responsibility of clearing up after the anus you know........
