I'm about to chase my order for the second time. No response to the first email and if no response to this one I'll be raising my first ever Paypal dispute, as it was ordered over a month ago!

Have they actually acknowledged receipt? They are usually very prompt and efficient (mine was acknowledged within a few days and the results came back in under a fortnight. The delay seems to happen if you send it via the customs route instead of just shoving it in an envelope and trusting it to the normal post.

Sadly I've needed to send 6 tests within the past couple of years & all have been fine from an admin pov. Acknowledgement email on receipt & then results about 2 weeks later.

Every single one positive. The only variants I haven't had yet are P8 & K1, so I nearly have bingo...

I used them a couple of weeks ago with no problem. I did find the results were available in my account a good few days before they emailed me about them.

I ordered from them and had a extra 2 week delay, making it 5 weeks for a test that usually takes 2. They didn’t respond to any emails I sent, but I managed to get through on the phone. They must not respond to emails as not the first time I’ve heard this.

Reading these replies I think I may have been a tit. I was under the impression I would receive a sample bag. Is that not correct? That's what I'm waiting for - I haven't sent anything to them! I am menopausal which is what I'll blame my error on if this is the case.?‍♀️

Yes you print off the forms and put the hair sample in a sealed bag and shove it in the post. Pay online. And just send it normal post so it doesn't get stuck in customs.

Tbh, it's a bit confusing. I think you CAN order a sample kit, but I have never bothered. I pull the hair, stick it on a plain piece of A4 (using sellotape) with my details on it, fold it up, put it in a zip lock bag & then put it in an envelope with the paper form with the horse's details.

I order the postage from Royal Mail online & print it out. I think it comes with a customs form which I have always filled in, but I see that others are saying just to put a stamp on it.

I agree with you that the site's confusing iro sample kits. I have also once accidentally got onto the USA site despite having used the German one more times than I want to think about...

Just checked on their website and it's embedded in the FAQs, so yes, it is confusing, as everything else talks about ordering a test, so I assumed it involved a SAE from them, with a bag and barcode/reference (that's how other sequencing companies operate!). Would help if they would respond to correspondence. Ah well, at least I now know! I have ziplock bags, so will pull the hair tomorrow and get it sent off. Thanks all.

Ooh and another thing, make sure you send the sample to the correct site, can't remember which it is but there are two sites in Germany dealing with different animals so check you're sending to the horse one, because that will cause additional delays.
