A few months ago my horse hurt his hind leg I had the vet out and they said there’s nothing they can do until swelling goes down, so gave me anti inflammatory to help with swelling, it is still a bit swollen but not as much so before I take him for X-rays or get the vet back out I was wondering if anyone has seen this before. Hoping you can access the photos below okay, as you can see his leg is constantly locked outwards and will not bend. In the second image is the lump that I noticed when this first happened (this lump has more or less gone now) I am hoping someone will know or have experienced this before and can give me some advice on what to do TIA x

The pictures are not great I can't really see very well but if his permanently standing that way I would be really worried about that, I think I would want that x rayed as soon as possible so I know exactly what's wrong.

Looks like the stifle is causing problems. Horses get problems with locking or slipping stifles and upward fixation of the patella some of which can be surgically fixed but you need a good equine vet to come and look.Minis often have poor hind limb conformation leading to problems.

Please ring your vet and get them straight out. I would want x rays asap. keep us posted on what the vet says, it is so useful to have feedback on posts.

I would have further investigations done asap, he also won't be able to sleep properly and potentially in pain
