I was just reading the thread that someone had posted about their website, when it was deleted, must have got a bit contraversial

So it has...I felt sorry for the bloke actually. I think it is widely known that recommends on internet forums carry a lot of weight for websites - they really help to boost the rating of the website on search engines like Google. I wouldn't be surprised if someone had advised this as a way of getting the site further up the rankings and helping his wife and he has misguidedly acted on it.

I know what he did was wrong and the way he went about it was even worse, but I can't help feeling a bit sorry for the poor guy!

I didn't feel sorry for the guy. If it was him and not the person who's website it was. Either way it sounded like some giddy child discovering a sweet shop - talking to us all like 12 years olds then making some pathetic attempt at apologising to make us feel bad for his alleged wife who worked so hard.... bla bla bla bla bla boring....

I suppose I'm too trusting! I see what you mean - he could easily have been the person whose site it was and thinking we are all thick, stick that stupid message on here, then back-track when it went pear shaped.

*note to self - must be more cynical...

I was very cynical as posted that I thought it was probably the woman herself whose website it apparently was, not her husband making the posts on the thread. Really must not be so cynical - and most definitely not on a Friday!

oh - tbh - really does it matter - and really does it matter so much that admin had to be involved ?

there are far more important issues around

there are plenty of people on here who still have 'adverts' in their sig including one respondent of this thread

what I notice is that new people who 'advertise' are jumped on like a ton of bricks but the people who are 'in the clique' on here don't get done for similar things e.g. advertising stallions/studs

the rules should be the same for everyone - no one set for newbies and one set for the people with 3000 posts

Interesting comments reynold and I suppose you have never broken the rules of hho?!

tbh I don't have a problem with someone saying ie 'jumping saddle looking for a new home' in their signature, its not as if they have created a thread to advertise (or they have made it bigger than a signature should be!)

I would be interested to know which breeders signatures you are talking about because at the end of the day its just pictures of horses that are owned by the member who's signature it is, just like any non breeders signature is just pictures of their horses! Whether they be a Riding School rider or a Top Competition Rider. Fairs fair, if one person is allowed pics of their horses then so is everyone!

Its just like I don't have a problem with a banned member returning under a new name.....
