Anybody tried Wolseley Swift clippers?

Hi

I've always had someone clip my horses before but have just been told that the price is going up and the lady who normally does it is going to charge £80 for the two. I'm tempted to get my own pair of clippers and share with a friend but am not sure how they perform in comparison to the Heiniger Delta's the lady who clips my horses uses. I've found some at a good price and am tempted as I'm told they are bombproof.

Any users out there able to shed some light on them. Neither horse isparticularly bothered about being clipped.

I *think* that's what I've got (def Wolseley anyway).
Had them about 6 years with no problems.
Not noticeably heavy or noisy (but then not really tried anything else in that time so poss not the best response....?!)

Wolseley have been making the Swift model for years. They are ideal for someone in your position, only clipping 2 or 3 horses. They last forever, I've had mine about 8 years & they've never let me down. The blades are easy to get, everyone will service them....go for it.

Hubs had his last pair 20 years, treated himself to a new pair last winter although the old ones are still going and servicable! I dont think he would have anything else, although he has a smaller quieter one for nervous horses and for heads, ears etc the Swifts are a little big for the delicate areas.

Had mine quite a few years. Never had a problem with them, I always send them to be serviced every couple of years, but nothing ever seems to be wrong with them.

My first clippers were Wolsley swifts, bought secondhand about 1985 when they were already about 10-15 years old.
They gave me years of service and I eventually bought a new set of Wolsley harriers, though the swifts continued to run!
I sold the ancient swifts cheap to a friend on the understanding that they may die tomorrow, but 4 years later they are still running.
They must be nearly 30 years old by now!

Jst to let you know I was like a child with a new toy today and clipped one of the horses with the Swifts. They went like a dream and were surprisingly quiet for their sizeand had plenty guts for the job although I could should have bought a trimmer for the hard to get to areas but you live and learn.

£249 well spent - thanks to everyone for your replies.
