Humph! I got a bit excited then until I read you meant serious offers. Well, I am seriously offering all the money in my purse, which amounts to...7 pounds and 98 pence exactly. You won't get another offer like it
OMG - you SOOOO crack me up!!!! You are quite right - I'll never get another offer like it!!! Though I think SK did offer me a couple of KitKats a few months ago

mmm.... you can really only rely on the goodwill of the new owner. At the end of the day once he's sold, its not up to you what happens.

I sold my foals 2 years ago and the owner sends me regular updates with photos (obv I can't visit!!) so I don't think SN's request is unreasonable.
Nope it's not impossible at all. I still keep in touch with Lucy and if she ever wanted to (infact we tried to organise it last summer but the father in law became very ill) she's more than welcome to come and see Patches anytime.
You just need to pick your buyer well. Hence why I think you've made this post. More likely to keep in touch with his future progress if someone from this forum (or any other forum you may be a member of) buys him.
I agree too.My horses old owner came to see him every week for the first 3 months!
Then it slowed down to every couple of months.I text/talk to her every fortnight now and she knows she can come to see him whenever she wants to.I have nothing to hide from her at all and I am glad she has the reassurance that he is in a fantastic home(even if I do say so myself!
Sorry (to others who read this) but FFS! Stop being so bloody sanctimonious!! I can just do without it!! Talk about petty!! SHE as in ME would appreciate you NOT analysing my words to very carefully -though I suppose the attention is flattering.
I totally agree with you SN.
When I bought Ebi, part of the agreement was that I let her old owner come and see her whenever it was convenient, also if I ever decided to sell her I would have to offer her her back first.
I never thought shed take me up on the offer of coming over to see her but after the first month she came over then never saw or heard from her for about a year. She got back in touch with me and asked how we were getting on. She asked if she could come over and ride her as she had never sat on her whilst she had owned her. Was a bit dubious but thought it would be ok.
Weve become really great friends even to the point I bought Chantin off her, she gave me Chantins mum Ellie, and regularly has she called me up to help her out and collect one her ponies and keep it till she sorts herself out.
If you get the right person why wouldnt they be happy to keep in touch with you????
