Apologies as this is also in TR but thought I may get some useful responses here....would be interested to hear peoples experiences :)

Both my thoroughbreds hated them, one much happier in happy mouth, the other in a french link hanging cheek. both just didn't take any kind of contact in the NS bit and were evading bit more than ever!

One of mine never went very nicely in a KK (more expensive version of NS, but basically the same though) and would go rigid through his jaw/chuck his head about - he prefers a normal metal bit and goes fine in that. All my others have loved their KK's :)

mine was never keen on them although he was backed using one, think he tolerated it for a while but he just got to the point where he just didnt like them and let me know. Much happier in either a striaght bar or ported bit, can be metal or plastic just not jointed in any way.

Bills hated his, grinded very badly on it. He was soft and would hold a good contact (whilst not grinding), but then after so long, would start to grind badly. He is in a happy mouth straight bar now, no grinding.

One likes them, one hates them:( he grabbed in between his teeth, put his head on the floor, and tanked off:( Not pleasant. After one short ride, the new bit had deep grooves from his teeth. (And, no, he didn't have a problem with his teeth, and he never reacted like that to any other bit).
