Impy hass been on his hols since the beginning of Dec, in this time he has had a wind op and today was my first time back on board. Just a short hack around the block in walk, have 4 weeks of hacking, no cantering for 6 weeks. Aiming for Bickenhall BE100 in mid April. Happy to be back on board, he felt huge at 17.1hh after riding the youngsters who are both 16.2hh for the last 6 weeks!

Does he still like the stable mirror? Glad you are able to ride him again - that time has flown by!

Hi Katherine1975! Just for you...

He loves it still, spends ages like that!

Just to fill everyone in this HHO contacted me via a post i put on here about stable mirrors prior to Impy's op and was kind enough to come out in bitter icey weather to give me her un-wanted stable mirror for free. I donated to WHW as this is where her mare was from. Very kind indeed :)

Lol at the stable mirror! Very cute...

Not an eventer, but hopefully a future dressage horse...I got on my boy yesterday for the first time in three months and he was lovely! And despite appearances, he's actually Spanish and not a fat, hairy Shetland-cross ;)

Sorry for the pic quality, my mum confused the camera and video setting on my iPhone so this is a still from the vid!

He's gorgeous! Love the pic of him looking in his mirror. I had one for my old horse and he used to do th same, spent hrs staring at his "friend"!

On the subject of getting on horses after a break, I got straight on Bloss after she had a year off to foal last time. Everyone at the yard thought I was nuts but I know her inside out and she was good as gold as was obviously only walking as she'd had so long off. Plan on doing the same this time too altho she wil have been off slightly longer than a year as stopped riding her earlier this time round.

Lol, mine too! Mine is Portuguese and he resembles a very hairy conemmara at the moment! I've just started riding him again after turning him away in October. Got his first event on Sunday, very boring dressage but I feel it needs to be something calm for his first outing!

Aww what a cute pic!

Yep, rode mine for the 4th time this year yesterday. Thank God the snow's gone!

I tried to get the gate to our wee paddock shut behind us & had a toys out the pram tantrum. Ended up doing a full 30m circly in only buck or plunge. Git.

It was overdue, I knew I was being lulled as he was clipped last week!

Ooh Nic for once I beat someone at something! I have managed 5 times on one horse and once on the other! 3 of those 5 times have been in the last 4 days mind

OP - love your giant horse! The mirror pic is very "special" :D
