Anyone any experience of Weltmeyer/Bogenschuetze/May Sherif/Augerman lines?

As above really. Going to look at youngsters with the above breeding in the dam lines, which are mainly Hanovarians which is not where my expertise lies. Looking for something to excel at dressage but which will jump as well but Im used to horses with a lot of tb in them, worried that the Hanovarian can be stuborn and slow to train, how true is this?

A friend of mine bought a weanling by Wolkentanzer (Weltmeyer line and looks just like him). Lovely boy with a really kind temperament and certainly has lovely paces. The dam was SJ lines (Voltaire & Ramiro). He is now 4 rising 5 and has been receiving dressage training but I will be very interested to se if he can, indeed, jump.

My last two horses have had large doses of hanno in them. They are both completely different kettles of fish! My current one is dressage bred being by Weltjunge who is by Weltmeyer but will be going eventing. He looks like a Weltmeyer being ginger, is quite hot, very short coupled and enjoys work. He has a good jump, moves well and has actually not been too spooky but he is very flighty if something worries him or stresses him out. I like Hannovarians apart from the straight limbs which a lot seem to have.

Hello,

I had a Weltmeyer gelding. Short coupled, good hocks, old fashioned
type, could jump and piaffe, so an all-round athlete. Loved working, easy
to train, was a real show off, easily bored so a bit of a sense of humour,
but still needed a routine. Would easily have a half dozen like him,
but this old fashioned type seems to be harder to find these days.

Good luck -- dene

I had a mare whose grand sire was Weltmeyer. She was well put together, moved nicely and could really jump too. Fantastic temperament and easy. Only possible downside was lack of speed xc for eventing. But as she wasn't bred to event I can't possibly complain : ) I had great fun and would look to this breeding when buying my next neddy.

I have a mare by Broadstone Westcountry who is by weltmeyer love her to pieces. Have a colt by her and have 2 foals due this in 2011 by Westcountry. I love Weltmeyer.

A friend of mine has a gelding by Weltmeyer and I've been lucky enough to ride him a few times.
I would definitely get another like him. Very well trained in dressage, he was up to advanced level by the time he was 8 (I know that's not amazingly quick but certainly proves he wasn't slow to learn), has a huge jump in him and has an adorable temperament. He is very useful as he won't do things by halves, he knows all the dressage moves but he won't give them to you unless you ask him properly so he's taught me to be a very careful and accurate rider.
He is also a very good doer, and will eat pretty much anything!

I've never seen a stubborn streak in him.

My mare is a very distant ancestor of augermann so not sure how much of her temperament is down to him, but she is 'AMAZING'!! My one in a million horse! Will try her hand at anything, show, jump, dressage and do well at it no matter what!

My friend has a gelding direct from Augerman and he is an absolute gentleman....beautiful manners, lovely to handle. She only really does dressage which he excels at but he has also a lovely jump and won in hunter classes - I know he was originally bred to event and was from a TB mare :D

I have ridden about 5 different May Sheriff's, they were all supposed to be dressage horses, but could all really jump! I don't think any would have been light enough to be top class eventers, but if someone had pursued the matter most of them would have gone up to 2* probably.

Love Weltmeyer. My horse I must regret selling was a Weltmeyer son, quite small and pretty consdiering his breeding but super attitude, just loved to work and please, and huge ability for collection. I want to use Weltmeyer either next season or the season after on one of my Trakehner mares as I was loving some of the foals at the Hanoverian auction this year that combined Trakehner and Weltmeyer blood.

Thanks everyone, the Weltmeyer was top of my list anyway and following your comments is still up there. Was worried the Augerman was all jumping and wouldn't have paces for dressage so some reassuring comments, just worried now as breeder desperate to sell, keeps dropping price etc but having booked holiday to view they won't answer phone!!!! Thanks again
