Hi

I had thought I had organised a house sitter to look after my two well behaved labrador boys over the bank holiday weekend. Unfortunately she has just had to cancel for family (ill parents) reasons. Now I am really stuck. We are in Buckinghamshire near High Wycombe. All my contacts are either already booked, or going away themselves. I don't suppose any of you good people know anyone else in the area I could try? Either to live in, or for the boys to live with them. I have had a bad experience of kennels so would only do that as a very last resort. In fact would probably rather take the dogs with us (camping) than put them in kennels. PM's would be fine! Thanks!

Mmm, difficult one this.

Only thing I can suggest is that you pay through the nose and get a professional house/pet sitting service like "Animal Aunts". I did this when I went away for a weekend last autumn.

Yes it cost a fortune, but it did mean that I got a well-earned break and didn't have to worry about the animals I'd left at home.

Sorry can't suggest anything else.

I'd have done it if I wasn't booked ;)

Long shot - but you COULD look at trustedhousesitter.com (something like that) its a company that matches house sitters to empty houses, and people have references and police checks that you can look at. Alot of them are last minute listings.

Best bit beig that people don't charge (but there.might be a joinibg fee - to advertise as a sitter its a tenner a month or something!)

trusted house sitter do charge. Try mindmyhouse.com. Also, contact your local vets as they tend to know who would help sit.
