There are several lots of land for sale in Alvaney, between Commonside and The Ridgeway. Can anyone tell me if there's decent hacking around there?

We're moving up there very soon (round the corner at the moment). I've done the Manley funride a few times and the ride itself is amazing. The sandstone trail is linked all around there. The land we're going to is up the road from the Forrest Hills Hotel - the landowner said you can go out for 30 minute hacks or 4 hour ones and it's great. Hoping she's right! :)
 
Delamere Forest is within easy hacking distance. It's huge- I have been lost in there lots of times! Linked to that is the Delamere loop which is a sign-posted long distance ride (I think 20 odd miles or so). There are loads of lanes and little bits of woods to ride through.
I sometimes take them out in the lorry to the Whitegate way (5 min drive) which is an old railway line.
 
Thank you both for your replies. Ooh, I'm reeeeally tempted now! One lot is 2.47 acres. Just right. I'm moving up to Great Barrow in a couple of weeks so it could be perfect. I can just see myself getting carried away at the auction...
 
Did you buy the land you were after. I know the person selling one of the lots on the ridgeway. The hacking is brilliant if you know were to go, miles or minutes, either is a good hack.
