Anyone been out in today's windy weather

Yep, she was no bother at all and slightly perkier than her usual plod in the school. The wind was pretty bad but I've figured out that if I'm listening to a bit of music in one ear and not paying attention to it she doesn't have the excuse of my nervousness to play up, bingo!

Had jumping lesson booked for today and after cancelling the last 2 because of snow (no indoor school!) decided to brave it today despite him only having worked once in past 2 weeks - big mistake. Spent the rest of the afternoon in A&E :(

Karen_c -hope u r ok & not 2 badly hurt!

I braved hacking with horse 2day was a bit more interesting than usual in gale-force Scottish wind! He practised his extended trot down hill (brake failure!) I couldn't here traffic & on turning round 2 check at 1 point I c an artic followed by tractor with huge trailer behind me- big pats for pony letting that pass him! & then felt like was going 2 get blown out saddle trotting up big hill!
At that I decided enough was enough & headed home cue more extended trot practise!

Went with 2 others from the yard for a whole mile (measured it before). It's not a good idea for your mare to jog sideways into a stallion with a gate making clanking noises in the wind......
Managed to avoid getting decked. Only because I can't afford to replace my new helmet.

I've hacked out two today (also in lovely windy Leicestershire!) one was a bit on his toes but a good boy, the other was solid as a rock and couldn't care less. :)

Yep, rode blackpony who is just coming back into work after 2 years off (4th time she's been ridden) for a little hack, helped friend long rein her 3 year old round village, & took gingerface to a lesson in lorry.

Horses all fine, wasn't keen on driving in the wind but managed it so quite pleased with myself :)

Hopefully same again tomoz with out the lorry bit but am guessing still with the windy bit

Oh :( hope you are ok?

Glad that those of us brave or foolish peeples who ventured out are still on one piece and I'm really proud of how cob coped with it all. I'm sure he'd have been a lot calmer if he hadn't had old grumpy horse on full alert and young Arab trotting on it's toes with it's eyes on stalks, for company. Today was a test and he passed ...more wind on the way tomorrow so it's just as well he's getting used to it.

Yep! Me! :D
My horse is about an hours walk away so I've been taking the dog a walk up to see to them and then back home as it kills two birds with one stone and I actually had to lean right back at one point to stop myself getting blown flat on my face by the wind
It started bucketing down on the way home with the wind at my back and by the time I was home I was extremely windswept and my jeans were two tone - light blue on the front and dark blue on the back from the soaking they got
Poor dog looked like she'd been dragged through a bush backwards too ha ha! :D

No, didn't ride as it was too windy and my girl hates the wind. Just bringing her in from the field was bad enough.......according to her there was monsters every where.

I thought there was a low flying Boeing 747.. then realized it was the wind blowing through the trees on the hill.. went on continuously for about half an hour..
The hill where my horse is kept is known as 'Windy Hill', who ever called it that weren't kidding!
