I just wondered if anyone has been XC schooling at Downlands in wilts? I was thinking of going and wondered if there is a range of heights in the fences? Also, do you know when it opens?

I took Bloss a couple of years ago - dont go if its been really wet as it gets quite flooded. There is a huge range of fence sizes, some of them are huge

(wel to me anyways) Theres loads of variety tho, and i really enjoyed it when i went.

It's lovely.

Massive range of fences- from tiny weeny (and quite a few of them to string together- perfect for babies) to about BE novice with a couple I'd class as intermediate.
The water is really good, lots of ways in and out. Theres a good step complex and lots of different ditches.

Ok thanks for that. I will see when they are open. I am competing at intro and would like to jump some more technical things ready to go pre novice

I've never ridden there but have been to watch people XC school, it's fab and has a huge range of fences, drops/ steps, lovely water. The only thing like Tempi says is if it's been wet they will rope off vast areas!
