Well people may know i posted a comment about going to ireland the other day... thanks for all your replies.
We have decided we would like to go to County Wicklow, pref north so closer to Dublin but open to suggestions.
Just wondering if any one has any suggestions as to what place is best to go to? - we want to have a relaxing time.. walks, rides, beach etc

Glendalogh is very pretty and scenic so worth a visit if you like walks but isnt close to the beach.Instead it has lake's etc and a hugh moutain national parrk to walk in...would be relaxing though and there is a bus servise to it and b and b's in the valley there...and there are a couple of riding centres nearby...look for AIRE approved and they should be good

The national stud isnt to far away(i think?) and is a nice day trip

Beaches
Silver Strand is the best beach as far as i know and is very very long...there is probaly a riding centre that does beache rides to.Greystones and Bray both have ok beaches to if i remeber rightly and i think theres a cliff walk between them thats meant to be fairly nice...i havent been to wicklow in a few years though

If you want to be by the Sea. Bray and Greystones are seaside towns,greystones pier is a great place to see seals following the fishing boats in as it happens,both on the DART line from dublin so are easy to get to

When are you thinking of visiting?
 
I love Wicklow. For riding Brennanstown riding school is good followed by lunch at the big Avoca shop cafe and then some fluffy shopping!
Powerscourt waterfall is worth a look and a nice easy walk and tougher walking up on the Dublin mountains.
Glendalough is interesting but can be a wee bit touristy.

I agree we have some of the best beaches in Ireland...just look at my siggy

me too!
its a mad town to go out in!...very touristy in the summer though..but a nice town overall...pity there is no beach closer to the town otherwise it would be perfect!
 
Westport ROCKS! I adopted a B&B owner as my unofficial auntie there, she was so nice to us.

What is the name of that place just as you go into Sligo from Donegal, on the left, with the massive beach gallop? Awesome times

I live in Wicklow, it's a beautiful part of Ireland. For riding I'd recommend Bel Air, they specialise in cross county riding and hacking, you get to see some fab scenery and the horses are great. They also have a hotel and are pretty central to Brittas Bay, Glendalough, Avoca. Kildare is also not too far which is good for a trip to the Curragh or National Stud. either Strandhill or Rosses point id say...i think Rosses point is the one nearer donegal road

The fact that i can think of around 5 beaches in Sligo like it says a lot doesnt it
