as title really... i'm looking for a horse camp to go to.

i want something that will be fun, but also help build my very fragile confidence. i'm a wuss. but not so scared i won't do anything (i'll just plop my pants whilst doing it!)... i think that the whole camp situation will MAKE me do stuff, and that's what i need.

i found a good one, but it's nearly 5hrs away... then i found this MK one, and it's only 2 hrs away...

I did MKEC Horse Camp August 2006. It rained the whole time, the field turned into a bog, I got kicked in the face and filmed falling off in slow motion!! Believe it or not, I had a good time, it was fun and I met some nice people plus there was a quiz and nice food in the evening so I would recommend it; though I was expecting it to be mostly people on their own like me, whereas most people had come with a pal. However it worked out OK. MKEC has a website which I don't know off the top of my head but you can google it. I actually learnt more though having private lessons at MKEC over their excellent XC course.

is this the active rider camp in august?? Yes I went last year in August - i wanted something that would give me a bit more confidence and did the XC/jumping lessons. We were lucky, had good weather! I loved it and am now moving yards to be there to go on the XC when I can

I went with around 30 others about 3 years ago; but being an oldie I just wanted to hack, so I bought myself on OS map of the area and took myself off every morning before everyone else was up.
I spent the rest of the day relaxing and watching everyone

We hadn't done anything til I got there! It was the camp that encouraged me to do stuff. year before he had colic so we did nothing. I emailed the organiser and said I had a Welsh D and would it be jsut full of experienced people and fancy horses and she said no, it's all different levels. So I did different levels for each discipline - ie chose 2ft - 2ft3 for XC and 2'3 - 2'6 for SJ and beginners for dressage! Those pics were after a lot of encouragement! When we first got to the XC field I was scared to even warm up!! It wasn't cheap - esp for me as I had to pay for transport - but it showed a new side to my horse and really brought out his abilities and how we could have a great partnership. Best thing I ever did. Go for it!!!!!!!!

It really does help you bond with your horse.

Anyway if you do go - come say hello as we're moving to be at that yard !
