I sold my lorry on Ebay. I allowed people to view it before bidding so they knew what they were bidding on and that it wasn't a con. Maybe try asking of they will allow you to view it befor ebidding and see what they say. Also insist on cash on collection then there is nothing lost if it isn't as descrbed/ or not cosher
I did and it was a bl**dy nightmare!!! However, that was beacsue I couldn't get to view it first so really it was my fault. It overheated 10 mins down the road and broke down again 10 mins after that. the lady refused to refund me even though she said she had someone else who wanted it before i went to get it. It cost me £400 to get it towed home and then a lot more besides. Now I look back she was totally right etc., though I was upset at the time. So in all honesty I would say it is ok but for gods sake go and look and definitely test drive it first!!!
I couldn't stretch that far but purchased a trailer last year. What a pile of junk and to think they we're carrying horses in it was unbelievable as the floor was totally rotted. I'd never go down that road again, pay the extra for piece of mind
I havnt but dad bought a car and it was a heap- but again, unviewed. (and it took about 2 months to start playing up so wouldnt have known anyway!)
I think if you are sensible and view it as you would with any other sale it should be fine. It makes no ods where its from if you view it and ask appropriate questions etc.
I bought my horsebox off Ebay, a few things didnt work when i got it home, that were not disclosed in description, but apart from that horsebox has been fine. Would always view it first though.
I viewed a lorry which was on ebay. The guy told me it was immaculate so I drove flipping miles to find out it was a rust bucket. That said, that happened several times and they weren't all on ebay ... some were from horsemart.
I wouldn't bid before viewing but otherwise think it's a good a place as any.
I bought my lorry through eBay. She's very elderly but has been wonderfully reliable. She looked dreadful when I went to see her and, if possible, worse when I went to pick her up but she's safe and reliable.
I've sold 2 - both elderly but regularly used & in good order. I encourage people to see them before bidding & take loads of honest photos so I can e mail them to anyone who asks. I'd rather be 100% honest - saves a lot of hassle in the long run. I see the last one I sold sometimes, blasting down the motorway when I'm driving home from work, so it's still going...
most people who are selling are happy for you to go and view it - I put mine on there a couple of years ago and everyone who was interested travelled to have a look and one got it vetted before they bid. Just a good way to get to a wider audience than horse and Hound
I bought an Ifor off Ebay. It was miles away but quite new and it was fantastic condition. Horse didnt like it so we sold it privately and lost no money on it.
Did go to view an older trailer locally that was on Ebay described as sound floor, good condition etc and it was a heap of junk, my keys went through the floor when I tested it with them! Thank god I viewed it as the picture looked fine
i bought a lorry off ebay last year, mechanically its been fine but there were a few undisclosed minor things wrong with it. ive just bought a new lorry so the old one will be going back on ebay when i can be bothered to get around to doing it!
I sold a trailer on there a couple of years back.I took good photos showing the whole box from different angles and stated what was wrong with it and enabled people to come and see before bidding.I sold it making 150% profit on what I paid and wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
I have just bought a car off ebay, when its working its fab, but that only seems to be every other day! You have less chance of buying a duffer off ebay, because people are very careful over their feedback. At the end of the day its a machine and some are good and some are bad.
