Anyone brought a horse from the billy stud

Nice breeding, excellent producing, low key marketing

Also from a breeding point of view, I like this young stallion - one to watch:

we've had loads from them, too many to say. some we bought and some i rode for them. most of the ones we've had were 3 or 4 and they were always broken nicely and unspoilt. every year you notice how they are upgrading and moving forward. donal has a very great eye for a horse and doesn't stop working.

remember when i was there a couple of years ago donal showed me lovely 2 year old colt that was out of the same mare as one of mine. it was out with just one other in the furthest field, that was billy be cool. you have to remember that billy be cool is slightly different to most of them as he lacks the irish blood, he's out of a kwpn mare who was the champion 4 year in holland and some might say he is put together better than some of the others.

below are 2 pics of billy phin (2002 phin phin x wolfgang) who is the uterine sister of billy be cool

Dannydunne, how much would a decent 2 year old be from the BillyStud? Not talking a amazing world beater, just a decent athletic type

I heard they have around 200 mares, that is some set up and to produce such lovely horses is a real credit to them. Do they stand their own stallions too does anyone know?

ah, I had heard the 200 figure from the commentary at either HOYS or Olympia. Still a lot of mares though and I would certainly like to take a trek around next year re the youngstock for sale.

Met the Funnell's at Horse Live. Lovely people and happy to talk about their babies and breeding ambitions all day. Friend I was with had sold them one their stallions, they talked about him and the mares with us for 15 minutes.
Oh, and they happily posed for photos with my 11 year old.

We have a 3yo mare by called "Ibiza" by Tangelo vd Zuuthose out of the dam "V.Billy Phin" that you are talking about and that Dannydunne kindly posted pictures of.

Our mare "Ibiza" is showing all the early signs of being a top jumper. If anyone is interested our mare can be bought, we are thinking to put her in foal to Diarado ~ I have video and pictures of her for anyone interested.

FYI Ibiza's mother "V.Billy Phin" jumped at Grand Prix with Roelof Bril. "Billy Be Cool" is approved with AES and "Billy On Ice" who jumps at Grand Prix are both out of the same dam as "V.Billy Phin". Not only does our mare jump extremely well in her own right, but you can see why we think she represents a very interesting breeding proposition I think when crossed with Diarado?
