Anyone clipping yet?

Hi

As title really! My boy really needs a clip but I was only thinking over weekend how early it seems to be clipping him, we usually last until November at least!?! :)
 
Yep, one clipped yest and the other one being done today. Much earlier than usual but their winter coats are at odds with the warm temps in the day and night at the mo. Unclipped mare is too hot today just out grazing! We are the last on the yard to do so too!
 
Yes I am have been wanting to do it for a few weekends now and will be doing this weekend now my clipper blades have been sharpened.
 
Yep - the hunters who are out twice a week were done three weeks ago, my big lad was done this morning, and the youngster will be done tomorrow...
 
Yep, my lad was clipped last Friday. It was raining so he got a bath, (well he was getting wet anyway) rugged up to dry. Whilest I was still out in the rain fixing where he had put his fat bum, through the fence. Then clipped when he was dry :)
 
Yup one done, the other one will be done at some point this week. They were just soo hairy I couldn't hold out any longer lol!

We use warm water with a splash of dettol and a splash of vinegar. The dettol really cleans the scurf out and the vinegar makes them shine. Always done this with mine, and others on the yard and they always look fab after.
 
Cob gets clipped tomorrow - usually we do him in November but he is getting rather sweaty already and also is a pig to dry off after heavy rain such as we have had in the last week, if he is all furry.
 
Yeah both done now. My boy was done 3weeks ago and is already growing back but he always needs to be done that early.
Our mare is normally done end of Oct/Nov but had to do her this weekend as was getting hot, they dont need the warmer rugs yet and both are still warm in light rugs.
