Anyone competing BD in Somerset/Dorset

Not that this is of any real help, but I learnt to ride at Half Moon back in the days when it was a Riding School called Forest Lodge Equestrian Centre! It was very smart back then with a huge indoor school and a nice XC course plus a smaller not so great outdoor, but we are talking 15 years ago now!

I credit my stickability entirely to that place!

Ive competed at all 3. I love Kingston Maurward, definately my favourite of the 3 - lovely big warmup and friendly outdoor test arena. The indoor can be spooky as the restaurant/marks boards etc are all on the open side of the arena and people generally arent quiet when theres someone doing a test!

Moreton i go to a lot aswell - warmup is a bit small for my liking around 60 x 20 which when you have 2 tests running is quite tight, but the test arenas are nice, its two 60 x 20 arenas side by side. Ive heard a rumour they are having an indoor built aswell.

Half Moon is nice, indoor is ok - last time i went the food was awful (thats a big thing with me

) and it was blowing a gale and the roof on the indoor sounded like it was going to come off

Not my favourite venue.

Well that indoor must be 20 odd years old - I remember when the previous owners put it in!

I love Kingston Maurward (Dorset) and Equi-Sense (Somerset). Lovely venues, not spooky, don't leak, well organised and friendly, superb surfaces, good parking and food. What more can we ask for!
