Hi there,
just wondering if anyone else is currently doing the free online horse management course? I'm struggling to get quotes of farrier prices for the horse description and hoof care plan assignment :( I need to know how much it would cost to get a farrier to trim all 4 hooves and also how much it would cost to get a farrier to shoe all 4 hooves. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. I realise that location will affect the price - I'm in Scotland.
Thanks in advance,
hghlnd

Im doing it though havent started on the assignment yet. My farrier charges £70 for full set of shoes and about £20-25 for full trim. Im in Gloucestershire. Hope that helps :)

Which course is this, if you have a link I'd appreciate it OP.

My local farriers range from £20-25 for a trim and £60-75 for a full set and I believe you are in my rough area OP (if I remember correctly you contacted me when I was looking to share my horse) :)

Oh I want to do this course! Where can I find out information?

I pay £30 for trim. Use to pay £55 for front shoes and back trimmed, but she is now barefoot.

thanks for the help, it is greatly appreciated :)
sandi_84 - Yes I am pretty close to you and did message you back then :). Those figures are great, thanks. :)
here is the link for the course, if you want to get the statement of accomplishment with distinction which involves doing the assignment mentioned in my OP, you only have a couple of days left to submit it. If you're not bothered and just want a normal statement of accomplishment then you're fine :)

How did I miss this one?! I've done loads of Coursera courses but I didn't see this one and it won't let me enrol now :(

It let me enroll :confused3:

To those who are doing it, is it any good? I've signed up for another one too but that doesn't start for a few days.

I do loads of Coursera courses but I must admit I'm unimpressed with this one so far.

I'm feeling slightly underwhelmed by it so far but have only watched 2 of the videos - I have done the quiz and assessment too - but I'm hoping it gets better the further in it goes.

I think its ok so far, this is only the second coursera course Ive done though... What other courses on there are yous doing?

My current ones on Coursera are :-
The University of Edinburgh - AstroTech: The Science and Technology behind Astronomical Discovery (finished this week)
The University of Edinburgh - EDIVET: Do you have what it takes to be a veterinarian?
University of Geneva - The Diversity of Exoplanets
University of Florida - The Horse Course: Introduction to Basic Care and Management
Caltech - The Science of the Solar System (finished this week)
and waiting to start The University of Edinburgh - Animal Behaviour and Welfare
I've also got a couple of ongoing ones on EdX and iVersity and I did a couple on FutureLearn but I like the Coursera platform best.

They sound interesting :) I'm also waiting for the University of Edinburghs Animal Behaviour one to start :)

I've just enrolled - there's a video on the page, and (in Firefox, at least) it covers up the "Join" button.

Thanks for posting - I'd have just left it if you hadn't said! :)

I've done History of Rock (both) and the Language of Hollywood. There were a few others, but I got behind and unenrolled, but I always check in to see what's new,

I might do that History of Rock one next time it's on. I did the Beatles course that the same lecturer did, though being a fan it wasn't very challenging.
I've been enjoying the Astrophysics/Astronomy ones I've been doing, there's been some brilliant lecturers. I keep taking them hoping that eventually I'll remember some of the stuff once the class is over
