My ponies are all HAIRY!

Not even the end of August and the one who was showing today, I was stood in the lorry park AFTER his class, brushing great clods of hair off him with my hands!

What's the earliest you've ever clipped?!

I try and hold off and rug up for as long as possible, but my TBxWB gets sooo hairy! Especially his legs, which I am debating to hack of this winter. He doesn't grow feather or anyything at all, he just goes very fluffy and resembles a 16.3hh shetland, depsite having numerous full neck rugs!

I was thinking about clipping today and how it won't be long till the ponies need doing! The TB can probably wait another month or so but the ponies are so fluffy already

oh bless, he sounds lovely!

My TB has gone very fluffy :D
The pony is hairy already and the cob, well don't get me started!
TB will be stabled this year and well rugged and in alot of work so hoping for a hunter clip :)

My tb has come through fluffy on the top and its starting to come through on the sides aswell now. I don't think im going to clip her this winter, because shes still quite skinny. So depending on how her build is in a couple of months i may only do a bib clip if that. Its our first winter together so im going to see how she is. She has started putting more weight on and im starting to work her more now aswell. A clip wouldnt look right on her now she deffinatly needs more weight and muscle on etc and plenty of rugs. I don't mind if shes all hairy but it also depends on how much she sweats when we do some work and how much we will be able to do in the winter as they all live out 24/7 and we ride out come rain and shine lol.

:)

yes iv been thinking about it for weeks lol but tbh my wee tbs not that hairy compared to some at the yard so were not to bad at the moment :D but i shall be clipping in a couple of weeks WOOOO lol

Mine have started growing their winter coats already, worst time of the year when you have a grey horse :p I personally really want to clip a heart onto his bum, but I think that would be taking his feminine side too far :D
