Ronnie's feeling the joys of spring - I'm hacking out in a body protector! He likes to exercise all parts of him on a hack, which means lots of sideways, up and down movement and the occasional trying to turn inside out
(all at the excuse of an evil blade of grass, or a twig that moved)
My horse hasn't been ridden all winter as we have had a permenant covering of 3 ft of snow and layers of ice to boot.
when we can see the ground again (please sometime soon) I will be lunging before I ride for a while and using a western saddle I think. there is a lot to hold onto and they are nice and deep.

Crikey Penny! 3' of snow, we haven't had more than about 18" at one time, it keeps melting!
then freezing, then melting. My daughter ice skates in the fields! I am reduced to riding on the roads or the track, everywhere else is lethal.
Fergus was feeling well this morning though!
I have to say that a little bit of green would be pleasant though.
