Ok, it really is owner neglect this month lol

Horse has had his fresh air, shavings, food, supplements, dentist, daily groom and a spanking brand new pair of hoof boots at £100 this month.

Owner.....................uh nothing! Not even a a haircut or had time to pluck my eyebrows lol

Anyone else feeling it this month or just me!

I can't even ride the poor boy as his feet are sore : o (

But on a plus note it's nearly the official start of the summer, yippee!!!!

Sorry - needed to get that out, onwards and upwards!

I'm feeling your pain! Car tax paid at the end of last month (£215), now this month I have my quarterly land mortgage payment due, car insurance renewal due, plus 100 bales of hay being delivered this week. Comes to about £1000 for all that, and I believe he needs shoeing before the month is out. Plus it looks like diesel is on the rise again

. Oh well - as you say - spring is on the way - onwards & upwards!

yes.last 2 months.horse dentist, mctimony, annual vaccinations, car tax and my nursing registration.keep telling myself its only money..oh and daughters prom dress.

Agreed! It doesn't help as it seems this winter is never ending!!!! I've had a broken car, car tax, vet's bills, extra bulk hay/shavings bills and a new pony to accommodate, plus tomorrow and Tues we are striking at work so next month I will be two days pay down!!!!

Roll on 24 hr turnout, no hay, late evening rides and SUN!!!!!!

Don't get your hopes up.....the last 3 summers have been a washout and I expect this one will be too - wet, cold and windy.....

Ohh lilym PMA and all that, life is like a mirror if you frown at it it frowns back, if you smile at it it smiles back. You have to put out for what you want back.

Sorry to sound all new age but after 6 months of minus temps and 3 and a half months with sometimes 80cm of snow down continually I have to believe in warm temps and sun again

Simple - you know how to find out what it will be. Just read the Met office summer forecast and expect the exact opposite.

They are the folks who forecast an unseasonably mild winter....

I've been feeling it since November when we started paying out £100 pw for hay/haylage. It was great last winter, we had our own land and paid £1 a bale for supplementary hay, this year they are all (13) in livery.

Hmmm, I'm officially horseless for the past ten days or so. And in that time, I had time (and a wee bit o cash) to spend on getting my hair cut/colored and my eyebrows waxed - all in one go! I am, however, in danger of turning in to a stepford wife! I've also cleaned my house, made home cooked meals, have even managed to put a bit of make up on before work (not that it lasts more than an hour). My hair has been lacking hay clinging to the curls...gosh I miss that! I miss the dirt under my nails.

Someone please find me a loan horse before I go nuts! LOL

However, my bank account is suddenly able to take money in rather than just a steady flow out the way all the time.....

This is my first month on Stat Maternity Pay (gulp) so definately feeling the pinch.

Fortunately my horses have managed to stay out 24hrs for some time now so hay consumption has slowed down a lot.
One horse only has front shoes, the others do without as not doing the work/unbroken.

I am staying away from certain websites in order not to be tempted to buy things I don't need

Phew, I'm not alone then! You have all just reminded that car service and tax is looming and I also have a vet bill I haven't received yet - gulp!

Smile everyone, we're nearly there, I can see the light!!
