Packing up the caravan to head off to Badminton. We are staying on the caravan site for the whole event.
The weather looks set fair and pleasant really looking forward to it.
I guess they have been doing a lot of watering given how dry it's been
fingers crossed for Harry Meade this year he had several horses starting hope he does well (I really liked his father Richard Meade as a rider ) now that shows my age!!

Yes! I am going tomorrow to watch some grassroots and do my shopping, then again on Saturday for the XC. Too busy to shop properly on the Saturday for me!!

I hope you keep warm, its cold at night this week!!

Unfortunately due to work commitments this will be the first year in decades that I won't be going - although I will be watching on CMH when work allows. Have a great time - it certainly will not be the quagmire that it was last year.

It’s pretty much obligatory in IHW world.
I’m going in tomorrow to support LEC, Friday to meet with local friends. Possibly Friday night if I feel up to the fun/mayhem. Staying the hell away on Saturday 😆. If the sun is shining on Sunday might head over for the final sj session

Yep I'm going. Really wanted to wear a dress but sadly I think it'll be jeans and jacket. Plan on shopping and watching the dressage and if I CBA, walk round some of the course. A lovely self indulgent day.

Sadly not, but am on leave this week so a chance to watch of all it via Badminton tv!

Enjoy everyone, weather looks fantastic :)

I'm there Friday for dressage watching & shopping.

(I'm slightly less excited about the thought it at the moment as I've got a mega busy week and currently just feeling tired but know I'll love it when I'm there).

I was hoping it'll stay hotter too as find day dresses are much more comfortable but alas, average weather has returned! Still, might be able to wear my new country boots I bought myself for Spring & it promptly got too hot and has been too dry to wear 🤣

I'm going on Saturday. We were given tickets last year (last minute illness) and my granddaughter enjoyed it so much she has been pestering ever since to go again, so we are. Plan to leave at around 6.30 a.m.

If I was going by myself I would have gone tomorrow to see the Grassroots, walk the course and shopping.

I was offered a free day, then heard nothing so agreed to do a little livery yard whilst the owners went. Typically the tickets came through so I’m thinking I may just go for a couple of hours wandering round between morning and pm stables…. If I can be bothered and depending how long the yard takes as I’ve never done it before.

I'm going! We're taking our new to us caravan and staying Thurs til Sunday, can't wait! I went in 2019 for the first time ever and had a great time but haven't managed to get back since

Sorry for the divert but have you booked again for Burleigh campsite? We have but strangely didnt receive a vehicle sticker for the campervan like before - Ive messaged the box office to no avail so just wondering if there isnt one this year?!

I have I will check me pack when I get home x

XC day for me, I am sure it’ll be fresh hell 🤡. But, we are staying in an Air BnB not 15 minutes away, so that should alleviate some of the stress.

On route to badminton booked and received the pack for Burghley can't remember if there was a vehicle sticker. Will check when we get back

Went today, I’ve never been on a Wednesday before and was honestly shocked how busy it was 🤣

Obviously not the carnage of a Saturday, but a lot busier than I expected! It was a great day though, lovely to see substantial cross country fences without the hoards of a Saturday. I’d definitely recommend it!

No major bargains, some stands had small sale rails but not many. I got what I wanted though so am happy!

Back on Saturday for total chaos 🤪

I went today as well. Normally go on a Weds/Thurs and never seen it as busy as it was today.😱
Have to say the food prices were extortionate (£15 for a coffee and lemonade) but hey ho it's meant to be a day out/treat. Didn't stop me buying a few other horsey things though lol x

Yep I have been on dressage days before and it wasn’t this busy, I think perhaps because it’s a bit cheaper today and you can see good XC fences without the hoards of people you get on a Saturday. I expect the dressage days won’t be as busy!

Oh I know food prices are nuts, better value in the smaller food stands in the main shopping village (bakery and crepes etc) right by the score board it’s totally bonkers!

We went yesterday.

Did lots of shopping although I didn't tick much off my want/need list. I got some lovely bargains. I did feel a lot of the stalls were selling similar stock. The sax player on the F&F stall was nice.

I checked the timetable and I was under the impression we would be able to watch the GR dressage and showjumping as well as the CC. We were onsite around 8.30 but unfortunately we couldn't see/find where to watch either. We did sit in the hospitality tent and enjoyed watching several ponies splash through the corner of the lake and had a wonder round some of the CC course.

I also couldn't see where the GR results were recorded. It felt that the GR competitors were almost an after thought and not really part of the overall event.

As someone who hasn't been before, overall the day left me somewhat underwhelmed. FYI - we went on the Wednesday for a quieter day and because the company I work for offered tickets through the accountant who have a hospitality tent, maybe that was our mistake.

@LEC well done - I can only imagine the feeling of riding in such a prestigious venue. Hope you got lost of photos.

The showjumping was over the other side of the car park, we didn’t see it either but only because I couldn’t be bothered to walk over 🤣

It’s aimed at the 5* for sure but still thought it was a lovely atmosphere and some amazing horses and riders on the XC!
