I had the greatest feeling this morning, when my 29yr old mare came galloping across the field and neighed at me! She's had a hard winter, been diagnosed with cushings and arthritis, I honestly was so worried about her, she spend all of her time in the barn but the sunshine appears to have given her a new lease of life :D

Also, yesterday I went to see my youngster, who's away being backed, he's been there a week today! I've only had good reports from him (I was worried he was going to be like the devils horses) so I thought I'd share a few pics of him!

Lovely horse!

I had a great w'end as Trev showed a tiny glimmer of feeling better & wanting to work - he's been suffering with ulcers that haven't been responding to treatment & I started him on something else 10 days ago. The sunshine & longer daylight hours always make me hyperactive so I've cleaned my tack & started mucking out the field shelter!

Awww thats lovely. Ive had a lovely weekend with my boys, it' been hot and sunny and delicious. Went out for a nice hack today, my boy did bronc and buck on the main road but nothing too major. Spent hours grooming dexter the rising 2 yr old in the field and now im having a pimms in the garden, pringle is mowing my grass and the 3 dogs are playing. It's lovely to see my springer pup try and gode pringle into a game luckily he is ignoring her as I don't fancy her chances in a fight against a big ginger beast :D
To top it off today the boys are happily grazing instead of hunched over their piles of hay which are mostly being ignored! SPRING!!!!!!
I hope everyones had a bit of sunshine!
 
YES!! Had a super weekend. My daughter and I have spent the whole weekend together :) First picked up daughter's new car Saturday morning (not new but newer - in fact newer than mine the little beast!!)

Then we had our lesson Saturday lunchtime, Bilbo was a little darling and we cantered in & out of bending pole type things.

Then we went to a party for RI's hubby's birthday in the evening - great fun with lots of friends (& daughter drove, so I should jolly well think!)

Then today, got up early and went by myself for a lovely gentle hack in beautiful warm sunny countryside. Came home and took the dog out with Daughter, ditto. And after lunch Daughter and I took the puppy to the yard and I gave Bilbo a hibiscrub bath to check his skin is all sorted and healthy after his lice episode. He was a good boy! Stood in the sun with his hay net and a warm horse shower, he wasn't even tied up properly!

Such a gorgeous couple of days and feel so lucky to have spent them in delightful company. :):)
 
Yep another good weekend here!! Fantastic days hunting in beautiful sunshine Saturday. New breaker also arrived and has settled extremely well. Then today went showjumping on a friends young horse and came 1st!!! Trophy and everything!! So pleased with him and due to go out again in 2 weeks for an indoor ode, which means I'm likely to get the ride all summer for eventing!!

Quick question is this pine lodge? If so, that is where I had a fabulous sidesaddle lesson!
 
Went for a road hack today. My horse has not left the yard for 3 months due to an injury so I was really looking forward to taking him out. He LOVED it. We went on a circuit we have done many times and were with his 2 bff's. Unfortunately, he loved it a bit too much and went a bit loo-la on the way home so I left to other 2 walking and trotted away on our own and he was fine. It was really lovely to be out again after so long being stuck in the yard and the next time we go he will be a lot calmer. When I turned him out with the other 2 after he had a lovely few canters around and was really happy.

Unfortunately, it wasn't sunny here but at least it wasn't raining.
 
sounds like we've all been enjoying the weekend!

Pimms in the garden sounds like a good call, should have thought about that earlier myself hehe! hopefully next weekend will be just as nice, fingers x'd! I've been checking out my summer field today but its still very wet in places, so hopefully if it stays like this it will dry up soon! hopefully in time for the baby coming back.

Yes had a txt about his session today, and he's been trotting on and off the lunge today, without being lead by anyone! bless him! its only day 7 too! sooo chuffed with his progress :)
 
sounds like we're all having fun :) lovely to read positive posts instead of the wet and muddy ones!

I had a fab weekend too with my baby horse showjumping on Saturday where we had a 3rd and a 4th and a gorgeous pony club rally today where for the first time he went like an old pro with beautiful rhythm, outline and transitions. I am so proud!

I too had a lovely weekend took my mare for hack both days, first time since moving to new yard due yo wet weather making fields muddy. She loved it was really on her toes in her new surroundings, hopefully next weekend she'll be a lot calmer
 
Lovely weekend here too. Had a fab lesson with new instructor on Saturday. My boy is really starting to move properly now and hopefully my ambition to move up to novice isn't overly ambitious after all.

Then today (glorious weather for once) went for a lovely hack. The new lady on the yard, who never hacks out, agreed to come along and rode her horse on the road for the first time ever (she's had him nearly a year!!) Her horse didn't put a foot wrong and my boy calmly walked beside him the whole way to keep him straight and reassured. Huge smiles when we got home, so job well done.
 
Lovely! Rode yesterday, and today left home at 3.30am for Crufts where OH was placed in his class and won highest placed bitch and a whopping great silver cup that sadly he only had his photo taken with, we were content with a lovely glass engraved bowl though! Just got home, sorry to have missed a glorious day of sunshine by being in the NEC all day though.
 
After all the awful weather, who could fail to have their spirits lifted by the glorious sunshine and want to take advantage of it by going for a nice ride or two? It was made even better for me by bens recovery from his abscess, coming sound this week so I could take advantage of the lovely weather and see him happy and comfortable again. it's been fabulous just to see him without a rug and back in the field with the sun on his back, not so fabulous is the cleaning involved to make him rideable afterwards though! We are going for our fourth ride in four days tomorrow :)

l spent 3 hours bathing my two and the boy rolled immediately after! Not as bad as the girl though - she lay on the muck heap!
