I was mildly interested a in looking at their new "cheap and cheerful" straw pellets, so I clicked through, and nearly choked on my coffee!
£600 for a pallet of straw pellets? Are they having a laugh?

65 15kg bags of "cheap and cheerful" from them is over £200 more than 65 15kg bags of straw pellets from Pelletbeds. They are welcoming feedback from people who buy a pallet to try. Sadly, there doesn't appear to be a feedback form available to people who aren't completely stupid!

Yes! I got that this morning!

I had decided not to order wood pellets a few months ago at over £400 a pallet… now they’re £640!!!

I’ve just ordered miscanthus pellets instead so hopefully they work for me (pellets underneath a big straw bed when he’s in overnight, skip out every day, remove the wet patch once every week-ish).

I had planned to use the PAH cat littler wood pellets at £7.50 a bag and buy them as I needed… but they’ve just gone up to £9 a bag!

I can't believe how much the wood pellets have gone up.

I decided to suck it up and buy the smaller pallet (50 sacks) for £330 in August - now £550 for the same thing.
I really nearly decided to wait and see if prices dropped a little

I looked around hard for an alternative but they were all the same price in August - maybe different situation now !

Local agri store sell non branded wood pellets, a 15kg bag was £4.40. They are now 18kg bags and cost £8.75. I used them under straw bedding last year but if they come in this winter they will just be deep littered on straw.

I'm currently paying £6.00 a bag for 15KG Platinum Plus pellets and bought 10 to take me through the next few weeks.
I am also paying £8.88 for Stable Choice 22KG shavings which is the best price I can find.

You're lucky if you can even find them nowadays. My local place hasn't had any for months.

I'm so relieved I gave up horses, I struggled when wood pellets were around the 300 mark, 650 which they are now is obscene, not far off a monthly mortgage payment and a huge chunk of my salary, coupled with the utility cost increases. I saw this coming when they announced the energy price thing and wanted to be able to contribute more to the rising bill costs

I couldn't afford nor justify spending that much in addition to all the other horse related costs
