The OH's sister was over from the big smoke for the weekend so wanted some 'outside' time. She therefore got dragged over some hills and fed at various pubs!

Saturday we went up Table Mountain (confusingly not a mountain and in the Brecken Beacon's not South Africa!) and then had a couple of drinks at a lovely dog-friendly pub called the Bear Inn.

Sunday was spent wandering along the Cotwold Way around Stonehouse and Haresfield with a quick stop for lunch at the Black Horse where Daisy was spoilt rotten and got a bed right next to the fire!

Hope you all had fab weekends too :)

Looks like you all had a great time!

I had lots of training this weekend; tricks and 1-1 agility on Saturday, and group agility, flyball and obedience today. Rest of the time was spent sleeping :biggrin3:

Sounds awesome! Daisy will be back at youngster gun dog training next weekend (she's not well behaved enough to go with the proper dogs despite being the eldest in her current group :P ) to hopefully keep improving her heel work and her recall. Once those are sorted we might eventually get to do some agility which I'm sure she'd love! :D

beautiful dog, its lovely to see a lab who is not overweight...all the labs round me are too fat....looks like you had a great time...

She's lab x German pointer so spends most of her time running which burns off anything we feed her! She's in a raw diet and get 1kg + of meat plus veg a day - eats better than I do! Lol

she looks very well on it..looks in fab condition...sorry i got the breed wrong but she does look very lab like....

I picked up Mrs Spaniel today as I have been in Rome for the week. I was expecting a waggy-tail hello and a happy reaccount of her adventures with our Flyball Captain, his wife and their three dogs.
Instead she trotted over, gave me a sniff and then ran away again. :( She even refused to recall to me during training, instead galloping straight past me when we did some Box work practice back to the car park to check on her SpanielSitter who was there.

Rejected. Horrid animal!

She is now trying to make it up to me by bringing me her new favourite toy and cuddling close and promising me that she loves me most out of every human she has ever met.

I did! Rare weekend off from everything so spent the whole weekend at the stables doing odd jobs and having a general tidy up. The dogs potter around and occasionally 'help' (carrying things away from me rather than towards me). We've got a new addition to the pack, a Beagle we rehomed last weekend whose owner could no longer look after her due to a change in circumstances. Her name is Tink and she's 15 months old. She's very nervous and wary of us at the moment but she's coming around slowly. Very inquisitive but not as boisterous as my other four. Keeping her apart from the others at the moment as they can be a bit overwhelming at the best of times. She's got all the basic commands and a couple of 'tricks' which we've uncovered when coaxing her with bits of food. Hopefully it won't be too long before she comes out of her shell fully.

Here she is yesterday keeping an eye on my OH whilst he was banging around in the feed room!

Also had plenty of laughs with our nutty Weimaraner, Jazzi. Her favourite things include my OH, dancing with my OH, standing next to my OH, and being brushed (preferably by my OH). She's utterly devoted to him; I gave him a hug at the stables this morning and she wedged herself between us and started wagging her tail (it stings like a whip if it hits you!). She kept a safe distance yesterday though when we had the two yearling colts out in the crossties to measure them - she's usually weaving around under the horses looking for stray bits of hoof but she seemed to know yesterday that these two weren't the usual candidates so took residence in the back of the lorry where she could watch out of the way!!

What I love about my dogs is their ability to make me laugh out loud so frequently! Great therapy :)

I do love of good Weimaraner! Beagle is also v. v. cute!

Yes I did.

I have a 10 year old Border Collie called Daisy, but have also just got a Great Swiss Mountain dog, now 10 weeks old, called Mabel, so she needs A LOT of attention on the housetraining front, and to make sure "play" between her and Daisy doesn't get out of hand!
Unfortunately I have a chest, Sinus and Tonsilitis infection, so am not finding it easy at the moment, especially with 4 horses to do as well!

Yes, ground far too hard (and it was too damned cold) to ride, so took my little Shih Tzu on a pack walk with the 2 ladies I often ride with :)
Covered 5 miles on Saturday, and 6 yesterday - she kept on going to the end each day & had a lovely time, 7 dogs in total for the 3 of us :)

Lovely photos of happy dogs there, CP I do like that beagle, pretty girl.
I picked up on Saturday and young lab worked like a Trojan. Having taken all the tread off her pads on the frozen ground she is now quickly regrowing some new for duck flighting this evening. Sunday was spent resting (her) and clearing up the shoot room (me). I can't do pics as broadband too slow.

Yup bit of yomping on Saturday as we've both been working really hard, so nice to get out and get the head cleared, then a full day training yesterday with my own and other dogs of various ages, all progressing well.

awww, I miss the Brecons-not been there for ages! lovely dog and Crosshill Pacers, cute beagle. I know she's a rehome but do you breed them?

we were just walking, nice ot have the OH with us for a change

MoC - yes we have bred a couple of litters. Great dogs to have around. I asked my OH the other day to describe Beagles to someone who has never owned one in one sentence. He summed them up perfectly - "Beagles love life". And whereas Jazzi the Weim is our top guard dog, my Beagles are top rat catchers at the stables! OH is terrified of rats (dead or alive) and my girl Daphne's party trick is to catch and kill, then proudly deposit at your feet (or in your lap if she finds you sitting down).

Although how I've ended up with five Beagles I'll never know...

Nothing too taxing this weekend for us, R did some really positive agility work earlier in the week mastering some double blinds/kinky turns (oo-er missus) so they had a lazy couple of days. Back to competition next weekend, just an unaffiliated club show. I was ill over Christmas and new year and have struggled to get back up to racing standard so nothing on the calendar there, sadly.

Little spaniel went to Manchester and came home with a third in postgrad and the same in open, he behaved beautifully considering his long break from the show ring and was beaten in postgrad by his own brother so can't complain. His breeder will be chuffed, that's the whole litter going to Crufts again. :)

Had a lovely dog filled weekend, took my homebred working cocker to pick up at a shoot on our yard on Saturday, ground was to hard to ride anyway so thought would make a nice change.
we usually beat for another shoot, so this was his first time proper just picking up and he was a real superstar all day, stayed calm for the drives and picked loads of birds and four runners perfectly.
Several of the guns even came over to say what a cracking little chap he was.. super proud moment - especially since we lost his mum just about this time last year ..
I also have two pups 6 months springer and 5 months lab l, so Sunday afternoon spent walking and basic obedience training with them... :-)

Sounds blissful, OP!

Our days off revolve around the dogs, Zak demands to go out by 11! Everything else takes a backseat unless I'm doing the horse, but I'm home before the springer explosion.
