Today there was a seriously biting wind, driving rain, and the xc was chaos till the last class. Found a friend of mine wrapped up in aluminium foil after jump judging 10 mins too long...fire brigade came (they were amazing) and had to sort a horse who went down in a lorry. Tractors everywhere towing everything out of the mud. The ground on the course was actually quite nice, thank god. Didn't let up once......But still managed to have a good xc round!
I also got shoved in as steward - I seriously sympthasise with all stewards now....I was only doing 30mins...traumatised...absolutely traumatised...

Sooooo, did anyone actually see any sun today? Or did everyone get drenched...
 
Nope got drenched...

Was supposed to be the fox on our riding clubs Mock hunt but got a call this morning saying it had been cancelled which miffed me a bit

But went out for a nice long ride anyway..wish i hadnt now as im still cold..
 
I went to xc too, was prob same event you were at!
It was horrible, felt sorry for my poor horsey but we survived it. I did the last class but annoyingly had one refusal.
I think I could have done quite well if it wasn't for that, I overtook two people!!
I think everyone found it a bit tough, there were only 7 clears in my class.

haha silly PC mums, my mum was talking to some other mum who wanted her daughter to do the unaff intro at tweseldown, even though she's never been to tweseldown

and couldn't even get her horse round the 2ft 6", in fact I think I overtook her as her horse was refusing a fence.
 
Went out yesterday, leaving the field in bright sunshine. The weather changed and we got drenched, but had a really good ride.

Today it was much colder, and we were ready for it. Thick jackets, waterproof over trousers, nice thick gloves and absolutely no sign of rain at all. I had to take my gloves and neck warmer off and unzip my jacket. Had another great ride though.

Newfies are FUN, whatever the weather
