Any one else heard of this>
atm my automatic trough is frozen, so were back to buckets lol but there freezing toooo :/ so i got told to but a tsp of salt in the water and it wont freeze. ? never heard of this before. Ill get you the verdict tomorrow lol

thats an interesting one, iv heard of putting salt in water to make it boil quicker (thnx to ready steady cook), bur not to stop freezing.

will wait for the verdict!

Salt water does indeed have a lower freezing point as it also does have a lower boiling point- if you are making pasta put a pinch of salt in and the water boils quicker! BUT not that much difference to normal water! prob only a bit of a degree so personally i doubt it will work.

That would work, to a certain extent. For example sea water rarely freezes, however that is obviously far to salty. My advice is get a large bucket (fishbox type thing) and fill it with water and put a football in it. Then when the horse wants a drink s/he pushes the ball aside and heypresto there is a drinking hole
