I’m sitting here in a huff because I was meant to be doing The West Kent sponsored ride today, but it’s been tipping down all day, so haven’t gone.
12 miles in this would not have been pleasant and was worried the box would get stuck in a wet field.

Feel sorry for Harriette_C (Badger the Fjord's sharer) as it was meant to be her first sponsored ride on him. :(

Anyone else meant to be doing something today? Dam British Bank Holiday weather!

Going to Badminton!! :o My folks live nearby and we came up last night with the intention of heading over this morning. Except it has been horrendous here and Mum (who is working on one of the trade stands) said even SHE hasn't gone out around the other stands because it is so muddy and cold :o :( Entirely my decision not to spend £££s to tredge around in the wet and cold (and watch it on tv instead!) but I'm still sulking at the weather for forcing my hand  :(

I suppose we should have expected it being a Bank Holiday and all, but it’s been so nice here over the last few weeks we were lured into a false sense of security. Shame you didn’t get to Badminton, that would have been great in good weather!

For the first time ever, I'm actually quite grateful for the typical bank holiday weather! Instead of the poo-picking/fencing/ragwort pulling I had planned, I'm using it as an excuse to snuggle on the sofa with the dog and watch Badminton! Sorry to those who had more exciting plans cancelled though :(

Thankfully i managed to rug my pony up before the rain came, i'm really proud of her. She's a native breed so i havent bothered rugging her before and she let me do it without a fuss. She's 8 and its the first time shes been rugged so i was expecting a bit of a fuss over someone shoving what looked a bit like a tent on her, but she was perfect, nice to know she can behave when she wants! =).

After schooling in the tipping rain for an hour yesterday I seem to have developed a chest infection so she can have the day off today and I'll stay cosy on the sofa, thanks!

I'm glad it's raining, it's been so dry the grass isn't growing well at all and we need the growth for a chance at a decent hay crop this year.....I was going to a show, but couldn't be bothered - same old person wins anyway - so stayed in having a lovely afternoon watching badminton on tv instead!:D

Tracks are too darn dry to canter on. No rain up North for ages! Horse looking thin in spring, strange!

I bought a weedkiller backpack sprayer last weekend, intending to spay the ragwort, which is growing much faster than our grass, this weekend. I can't possibly spray when there is a risk of it washing off so I'm sitting in front of TV watching Badminton. I can't ride atm as horse is off work.

Went to the pub with the outlaws and family for lunch, at least with the pouring rain I didn't sit there thinking about what I could have been doing. The ground round here could do with some rain to help the grass grow and soften the tracks - they are a bit like concrete round the orchards at the moment.

The forecast for tomorrow is fine but windy, so might be able to fit in a hack, although the wind might make it a bit 'spooky' :)

Weather has been v wet & windy here & it's still howling a gale, so I've had a guilt-free day watching Badminton from the sofa. Mine haven't had a day off for a while, so it won't hurt.

About to walk the dog cos it's v unlike me to spend all day sitting about & I'm getting restless.

It's been dry here since this morning, but cold, windy and really overcast all day. I didn't go on a hack with some other people as planned... instead I went out on my own! Only for 20mins, round the block, stuck to the lanes, but it's only my second solo hack (and the first was only from the yard to the field!) so is a big deal to me :)

It was a bit chilly and a little breezy here this morning, went for hack for about an hour and a half.

The rain has been nice - although it hasn't rained here today, it all seems to come overnight - at least the grass is starting to grow now. The farmer where I keep my horse was telling me that his milk yields have dropped cos he hasn't got enoiugh grass, so hopefully he'll cheer up soon too!
