Anyone else not like jodphurs?

Bright-Spark - can you elaborate and tell us WHY you hate joddies? I like them because once I've cut the cuff off the bottom, they're slim in the leg under my boots and they don't fray! :D Why on earth do breeches have that funny little split with velcro at the bottom of the legs? What IS the point of that?

me :D

i wear PLAIN trackies :D they look like baggy jods tbh lol!!

i hate how tight they are :o i wore white for competing which looked really smart but thats a seriously bad colour for me lol

I can't stand them anymore. Too restrictive and uncomfy and I've tried the lot, from cheap n cheerful to mega money ones. I just wear trackie bums or jeans now most of the time.

Thanks for all your replies- I'm glad I'm not the only one :)

I just find them very uncomfortable and restrictive, and maybe also I'm a bit shy about wearing them as they arerather figure-hugging!

I tend wear joggers as I find them much more comfy and feel less like a pleb if I have to go to the supermarket straight after doing the horses :o

I loathe and detest jodhpurs with passion!! I have however managed to find some breeches that I actually like and could wear all the time, had one pair to test drive but will definitely be getting some more when I have spare cash.

I've worn leggings (2 pairs in winter) with full length chaps for years and years. I don't like the fact that jodhpurs come too high up my waist (I'm not fat and don't have a sticking out tummy - I just feel uncomfortable with stuff round my middle).

Much prefer breeches or jeans-style leggings, partly because jodhpurs are always too long for me. I'd like to know why breeches are more expensive too so if anyone can enlighten MulledWine and me, that would be great!

breeches, never jodhs.
they're normally only a few £ more.

breeches are shorter and are supposed to be worn under long boots. the Velcro is to make sure they sit close to the leg and don't bulge under your socks/boots :)

Hate them with a passion!! They are just so useless having no pockets for keys etc, also I look horrid in them, totally unflattering!!! I wear the things under duress for shows/dressage but wear stretch jeans for everyday riding!!

Hate them! Hate them! Hate them! And hate jodhpurs too, I wear baggy old trackie bottoms ("Bombachas" as my Chilean friend calls them) except for shows. Don't like how tight jodhs or breeches are, and they get stupidly dirty around the yard (so do the trackie bottoms, but since mine are all black i can fake it for longer!).

hold the phone - where do you all find leggings that arent see through so you only have to wear 1 pair?! im yet to have found any :o

I wear leggings alot but trouble is i often look dirty but in normal clothes, i would much prefer to look dirty in jodhpurs walking around tesco, that way people know why i am dirty... haha

I don't wear jodhpurs but I really like breeches.

I think it is another novelty having come to horse ownership so late. At first I was really embarrassed dropping my children off at school in them and then I got bored of changing quite so much.

I find them really comfortable and I get so bored of jeans. I wear breeches and then when I want to turn into a mother again I wear dresses. Perfect!
