Anyone else not watching Crufts this year?

It is not just dog shows, showing horses years ago was a revelation about the mean spirit of some humans.

A friend of mine breeds and shows Sphynx cats if he gets beat he always goes and congratulates the winner, the look of surprise on their face shows nobody had done this before.

I see Crufts as the Kennel Clubs main fund raiser they took over £1,000 from Bulldogs entries alone.

I only show lightly, only championship shows within an hours drive. I cont compete at Open shows any more as they are always in tiny venues that my dog doesnt like and we rarely have classes anyway.

I have all my rosettes proudly hung on my 'rosette line', be they red, blue, yellow, green etc. I was actually pleased when my boy got placed 5th at one show as i'd always fancied a purple rosette, lol!

There is bitchiness and bad sportmanship in our breed but you just have to ignore it. I show because it gives me some one to one time with my dog, just me and him together enjoying a day out, end of. If we win something it is nice but if we dont who cares.

I am very pro health testing and think steps towards better breeding practices can only ever be a good thing.
