Anyone else on foaling watch tonight?

a bit to late to this, but congratulations ! Hes a real lovely strong foal. As for colour, a friend of mine has an appaloosa x mare and her first foal came out very similar in colour, and hes now a proper roan colour.

As for the headcollar, i always pop a headcollar on. As TM states you never know how the mare will react, and in an emergency last thing you need is one you cant catch .

One of my mares gets a little obsessed with the foal, so much so she wont let them drink, so headcollar means we can grab hold and let foal take the first drink. Otherwise she just turns around and follows foal everywhere
