I just wanted to know if it was only mine or if anybody else on here also, had
a weimaraner that is the biggest thief going?
In one week she has had off the side, a cake, half a joint of gammon, and attempted a massive chocolate cracker yesterday by climbing onto the back of the armchair and stretching,(luckily we caught her before she managed to get the chocolate)
but also how long did it take for yours to become house trained?
as mine is seven months now and still hasnt quite worked it out yet

thanks
xx

I dont have a weim but you have my sympathy! My mum has a ridgeback puppy of about the same age as your pup and she will steal anything she can get her gob around.

I walk two for a couple who have always had them and they're only allowed into the house when supervised and everything is shut away. The older one is ok but the young one (abt 20 months) is a nightmare. I don't think they've bothered training them at all tho :( so not sure what they would be like with training and proper exercise (I'm only hired to walk them once a week). A friend of my mother has two working ones she uses as guard dogs and they're brilliant in the house but after a full day of 'patrol' they're too tired to be naughty :D

I have a longhaired Weim :)

He doesn't steal (and never has!) luckily but I think he is the exception! His brother is a toad and his sister is nicknamed the devildog! Herman, by comparison, is positively angelic!!

It took him a while to understand housetraining, I think he was about 6 months by the time he was reliable overnight - we got him at 4months and he'd been kennelled and had no issue with going in his crate. Through the day though he is always with either me or my OH (we work in a pet shop so we can bring him with us) so we can always see when he needs to be out.

He'll be 2 in April.

thank you, she is mostly reliable at night
although can occasionally slip up bless her
but during the day she tends to stand behind you and go for a wee!
although she is fine after shes been for a long walk,

My OH walks 2 on his doggy walking rounds every day and thay board with me alot too, infact we went with them to get the dog when they bought him, they bitch will scavange and steal all day long, the things she has passed from her arse is no ones business , the dog steals but is no hwere near as bad as the bitch.

thanks for that CAYLA,
great to think that even the two you look after
steal all day too, and i have got a lot more of
that to look forward to
