Anyone else pay £3.75 for turn out/bring in?

Yes but our liveries don't just have 1 rug to change, the have 3 stable rugs on, they then want 2 turn rugs on, 4 boots, over reach boots and a hood. Also, not all of our fields are on the premises, some are off site.

can see that would take a lot longer to do. I think its more then that I wouldnt want to pay £4 when I know that my horse wouldnt take 30 mins to do.... I guess in an ideal world it would be good if the price reflected that.

I pay a lady to do my horses when I cant get down. I give her £10ph, and if for any reason they take her longer to do than an hour, (ie if water is frozen etc) then I just ask her to bill me at that rate. Keeps her happy, and I know that Im not asking too much from her

tbh i dont find it that extortionate! if the yard doesnt really do part or full livery then turnign out or birngin in one or 2 horses evrynow and then needs to pay same with other chores! i have been paid £5 to bring a horse in b4 now thats because we dont do assisted livery just diy so really it has to be worth YO's while.... (fiver was to much and i didnt ask her to pay me at all) but u see what i mean it needs to pay!

having read this forum and posted for a while now i really think some people expect far too much from YO's and then complain they charge too much!!!

This is what we charge:

Groom(full)-£10
Brush off-£5
Feed over door- £1

umm... I pay 50p!! for feed, rug change (not just the one rug either) and turnout. Bring in (no rug change) and a handful of haylage to keep him going in the evening is included in the DIY price (£110 per month inc all haylage and bedding). How I love living in Scotland again...
