Reading your posts, it seems that the TBs are not doing too well in the rain.

I am lucky as my boy is a native and although does not like the rain, manages well in it.

Yes, Amy May would certainly not have had a rug on

However, my little Bumpy boy is part TB and is really struggling in the rain and particularly the wind that has been accompanying it.

Yes, my little mare has her rug on. It was 9 degrees the other night and absolutely chucking it down. But I'm also now looking out my window at work and thinkin can I persuade my non-horsey (totally scared of them) OH to go and take it off. I suspect not

Lets just say this year I have not sent my unlined t/o away for cleaning - on - off - on - off all year so far.

Rugged up Saturday night as Cairo has been very ill and Chancer was to be kept clean and did same last night. Also left rugs on today, as I don't want to risk Cairo getting chilled and Chancer has been bathed so need to restore his natural oils again.

Not really been a great summer this year.

My spoiled warmblood was rugged (L/W) last night and throughly miserable this morning. Rug left on all day and will be rugged for the forseeable future, looking at the weather forecast. Might even bring him in on Wednesday when the forecast is particularly grim.

But he is spoiled and really dislikes the rain.

No! It is too dificult to judge when it is raining one minute and warm sunshine the next. I have a native so he is out with nothing on as he can dive into his field stable if he wants to!

RS horses and ponies are all naked - even the older ones - although some are getting a scoop of nuts when they come in just to help keep them covered.

Point-to-Pointer is out in a LW T/O only if it is wet - we've started popping a fleece on him at night though as it gets so windy and his barn is a bit of a wind tunnel.

Couple of liveries are rugging but most are not. It isnt that cold really, just wet and miserable

no, its not been as wet up here as down there (for once!) plus would rather have him a little cool (dont believe for a moment he is cold anyway) for a while than baking hot in 16 degrees with a rug on.

LW turnouts on.

Friends WB that I do most days has his on beacuse he had a bath yesterday and isn't waterproof. My mare and foal both hate hate hate being wet so they have theirs on, and OH's TB is prone to being skinny so has his on to not drop any weight.

oh i do feel bad as none of mine have rugs on but all have good shelter, still feel like rushing out and bringing them in and putting LW rugs on when the the rain is lashing (oh actually has it stopped at all), but stop myself as they are stuck in rugs all winter and do enjoy a roll in the mud, so leaving them off with my guilt giving me a hard time

My big tough carthorse, who had never been rugged or stabled until I bought him, has a LW TO on all the time at the moment.
He stayed in this morning with the ex pointers, and was extremely happy to do so.
He is clipped right out however, and also convinced he is a thoroughbred!

Nope both are naked!!

Even when it does rain, it's so bloody close that they would be sweating with rugs on or I would be running up to take off/put back on all day.

Mine came in yesterday morning after getting soaked overnight and was really cold, so I popped her lw turnout on for last night. She is back naked tonight though as it is supposed to stay dry, which means it proberly won't!

L/W turnout on in the field during the day if its raining and on if he's out at night regardless.

If he's in I usually put his fleece on.
