Anyone else scared?

I am having to do lots of in-hand walking with my 15HH horse, he is not fit to ride yet and is slowly coming back to work hopefully. The thing is I am getting quite spooked myself! He is mostly good but I would really rather be on board than on the floor when he does look at things/meet other horses/have cars whizz by etc.
Anyone else more scared of their horse on the ground?
 
I have been walking out my 15hh Tb and 15hh Sec D in hand as I have just had 4 months off riding due to injury. The Sec D has been in light work the whole time the TB has been off work since July through injury of her own.

I am due to start riding again next week but have been walking the pair of them out in hand for the last couple weeks to get their fitness going. Any the TB is a start to lead does look at stuff but isn't spooky. The Sec D on the other hand I would much rather be riding her, not because I'm scared but because she is so strong. The second I turn for home that's it she want's to go. I'm having to put all my strength into holding onto her! Roll on next weekend when I'm back on board is all I can say.
 
Yes! Mine gets so spooky being led in sometimes and after 2 bolts and a rear coming in from the field in recent months it's very scary. I always lead in his bridle and have actually ridden him in from field on occassion (with riding hat) rather than have to lead him up one particularly 'scary' lane where he spooks at everything!
 
I'm the opposite - mines takes confidence from me on the ground, and focuses on me a lot more. It's when I'm on board that he's more likely to spook or get distracted.
 
I'm an utter wuss when it comes to riding, and before I met my current horse I'd definitely have rather been on the ground than in the saddle in a situation. However, new one has an in-hand bolting problem so I'd now far rather be on him than off! First one I've met like that. Very odd!
 
I've never been scared of my mare on the ground. She is an Arab and can be very snorty and silly at times, but she is always very conscious of where I am, so I never feel in any danger.
