now off to have look at forecast we missed rain last night
Nope - mine are on restricted grazing - the resting sections of their paddocks are knee deep - and they have been topped! Still at least it will keep them going through the winter.

Bah!!
Can go off people you know - everytime I think I can go and get a flight for £0's something happens to stop me going!! They have just come back - was v hot - even by their standards!!
Send her over - the holiday will chill her out.....
Ive just had cancellation so if you know anyone wants cheap holiday theres one or two weeks going spare really reasonable.Need to avoid school hols for cheap weeks and my daughter is in last year so we wont be getting any good deals.Skyscanner is good for sourcing cheap flights.I would love holiday as well
I was very brave and have started jumping lessons. My instructor said she takes her hat off to me as shes tricky little madam.Shes doing so well Im really proud of her.Only one blip this week took her hacking on her own spooked at something in hedgerow in canter and we jumped up bank into farmers field.
my problem is not only lack of rain but pesky wild rabbits who live in the banks around my field and use my paddocks to graze in - there are hundreds of the bloody things at the moment they are stripping every bit of grass I get before the neds get to it.
No rain??? oh my god where do you live? we're moving! lol! all it has done here if flaming rain and rain and rain! Winter rugs on in morning ready for the next front coming in at 10am!
snap! my fatty patch is bare but two ponies still fat. My mare wandering round in knee deep grass looking at two paddocks that haven't been grazed since April. Also have two paddocks ata friend's I use which have grown long.
NO RAIN!!! - which is a real worry as we never technically got out of drought conditions and this is our 'wet season'.
So if you have any to spare PLEASE send it this way! (south...)
The price of hay is allready going up and it is not even summer!!
Always. My two don't 'do' grazing they are fed hay 365. A neighbour let us put them in his pretty sparse field and they blew up like balloons - cue us running two bloated, farting horses up and down the lane at 10pm Never again.
They are not used to grass, having lived all their lives in a dry, grassless area of Andalucia. Now we live in lush green countryside and I am terrified of them going down with colic or laminitis!!!
Ah well, at least the hay is dirt cheap (well, free for us as our friend took 150 round bales of his land and only has three horses).
ive plenty of grass here 14 acres for 1 horse although i have her in a 1.5 acre paddock with her muzzle on ... but it has been raining non stop for 6 days now , its like winter
ive got none at all.
but we are over horsed. my 3 girls have about 1.7 acres.
so 2 are off on holiday and wintering out this year. so i will just have one at home until april/may next year!bliss.
Opposite side of the country to you ,between lowestoft and Gt yarmouth - east anglia. No rain for 3 weeks and its really too hot to ride although I still do 6 days a week to keep mare sane.
Now going on weather site as they forecast rain again this morning and again we have missed it I think it blows out to sea.
